Fury in the comics was not trying to beat War and that wasn’t a 1v1. He was going Beserk on Earth while she was trying to talk reason and restrain him he took that opportunity to attack her with intent to kill. Context matters in this fight. She has a Havok form the same way he has a Chaos form. War has the edge for sure being tanky but he ain’t crushing Fury so easily the way you described when she’s beaten people of his fighting style and caliber main example, WRATH the most physical of the 7 deadly sins.
Death is the strongest though War probably is the one out of the other three that could challenge him if they had to. No that isn't me saying he could absolutely win and yes I know Death cut War's arm off but that was a long time ago from where they are now.
Death no diffed War in comics, and cutted of his left hand, he is invulnerable to theirs weapons( he has created most of them), except strife's guns, so low diff to fury and war, and high diff for strife.
War is a berserker, strife has the most agility and offensive capabilities in quick succession, death has the most adept magic, durability, combat iq, and semi jack of all trades skillset so what does fury really have? Id like to have thought she ramps up over time but judging from her in game appearance she really just seems to not excel at anything over her brothers
In the first game, there was a scene where Samael, with admiration, described War fighting armies alone from behind him. In one part, when Samael threatened War with death, War replied, "We both know that won't happen." Death may be the oldest and most experienced, but whether he is the strongest is debatable.
Let me add something here… Strife, war and fury require the charred counsil to unleash their powers. They restrict them. Death on the other hand cannot be restricted. He is simply -that- powerful. The example is their transformation. Death doesnt require the charred council to enable him to do that. - His body regenerates even heavy physical damage. - He is a master necromancer that revived « war « once. - He goes behind the councils back to revive humanity because he knows they couldnt stop him even if they tried. - He goes toe to to3 with Samael and could possibly beat him. Despite samael possessing precognition and foresight - Even Abaddon (before corruption) shat his pants infront of him. The only reason death dies is because he sacrifices himself to revive humanity. Which is what enables fury to have her own game. Now to credit the others, because fairness. War is all but unstoppable once he cuts lose. Strife is a mercinary who fid dirty work for both Heaven and Hell. Alas, he has alot of shit on both sides and is possibly the first horseman to notice something is up with the council. Fury is the youngest of them all and hence the most reckless. Her entire arc is about coming to terms that she is not ready (and by extension able) to lead the horseman. Technically she is a battlemage by definition but we havent seen much of that in the game. The whip she got is still cool though! Bottom Line: There is no simply no comparrison to death. He is stronger than war, more cunning than strife and much more experienced than fury. He is the leader because he is top dog for a reason. Absalon mightve been the first Nephilim but Death is the greatest of them.
As far as I'm aware and would guess a bit myself, I think Samael is overall the strongest demon, BUT problem is Lucifer is better at manipulation and not only has more contacts and resources but also secretly worked his ass off to get all the... "polytical"(to call it in some way?) support he could get from the demons in hell, so basically he's trying to take Samael's throne by pressuring him by taking the support of as much demons of hell as possible and putting them against Samael, having a muuuuuch bigger and dangerous army than Samael's one currently, instead of trying to take it by force because our boi Samael, just like our boi Death, is an absolute powerhouse, he's a colossus on direct fight, so Lucifer is not stupid and knows he has no chance if he goes in person, and probably that's also why not much is known about him, he seems intelligent enough to hide his location and information to avoid Samael or anyone chasing his location or using said info againt him. At least that's the version I like the most and find more logical
I love darksiders. But damn did they butcher the 4 horsemen. They completely shafted the Black rider and White rider for their own original ideas. I would much rather prefer a powerful King with an energy bow over a weak Horsemen with guns 🤷♂️ the White Horse is the most powerful. Not death. And that’s biblically accurate. There is no fury or strife. Makes it hard to appreciate whe. You figure out they twisted the Bible for their own benefit.
I loved Absalom as a villain, but Im not sure how he and corruption relate. His goals were for his people and not himself. If its anyone who seem corrupt, its the four horsemen.
Alway wankin Death, when War has the most skills in combat implied by Death in the game and shown in the comics, that even though death cut War arm off, it was, mostly due to teamwork, distraction, and the fact that War was not in his right mind. Still not saying he is the overall strongest bust War does also match up in magic, War just got more arcane passive and defensive abilities.
I will say it feels like War should have gotten endurance. He is more of the tank of the group and even if you are comparing off the games, his health pool is massive while death needs potions to sustain his
Tbh war is just the best bc his brutal and a power house and death is just better with speed, combat and more experience but war will fr solo everyone else besides death
