Where did you buy the books from? I’m currently reading Look Closer By David Ellis and I want to purchase more murder mystery books with a hint of romance 😭
I love seeing writing creators that are also proudly Christian!! Do you have any advice for someone who is trying to get back into their faith and balance that with their writing, especially someone who wants to write romance novels??
hi!☺️ honestly i’m still learning as i go! everyone might have different approaches when it comes to blending their faith and writing romance but i personally let my beliefs and values guide the theme and message of my stories (love, forgiveness, patience etc.) and i also set boundaries for what i feel comfortable including in my romance novels. i’m sure it’ll be a learning process as i go but as for right now i’m writing what feels right to me💖
I need to get a kindle again. I remember getting the first one. It was neat for its time. I ended up giving it to my aunt who loved to read books. This one looks so good!
I think Amazon can afford to stand you a free trial twice, as you're giving them an excellent, enthusiastic and free promotion for their product! Also... Prince's tail 😍
(Not me saving this video and just seeing it in my watch later now) Funnily enough, I have almost the same pumpkin mug you used at the start of the video! It doesn’t have the leaf, but it’s pretty similar. Don’t worry about not keeping up with vlogging, I tried the whole thing with my writing and just couldn’t do it because either I hate making them or I’m just not good at them yet. But I love WATCHING vlogs. I fully believe in setting a personal non word count goal so you don’t get discouraged if you fall behind. So if you write every day or feel good about your sessions, you hit your goal! Thanks for the video!
There's no kindle with color yet, but there are other e-readers that are made with color! The Kobo Libra Colour is a popular one, especially in Canada! and it's nice bc it makes libby available for Canadians, I've heard Libby isn't available on Kindle in Canada unfortunately :(
Congratulations! Now that you have the Kindle, look into getting a remote control page turner and a tablet pillow stand with detachable bowl. Massive game changers!
Girl let me tell you I have 3 kids a 4 year old and a set of twins. I said when I was pregnant with my first how I wasn’t gone let her see my phone or get an iPad. But when you actually have your baby it will be different especially if you plane or having a road trip. A lot of kids thrive on the iPads just making sure you practice moderation.
Currently reading iron flame and I personally don’t think it deserves all the hate that people are giving it. Yes it is very long and it is unnecessarily complicated in some areas, but I’m still enjoying it and I would recommend it.
My grocery list each time for the past 3 weeks has been: bread, mayo, cheese, chicken strips (or chicken burgers) and whatever beverages are on sale. Someone gifted me green onion so now the sandwiches have a bit of variety, and I do technically have a bag of antioxidant berries in the freezer which I constantly forget is there. A recipe I hoped to have the budget for, and maybe you can try it and let me know how it tastes: a really big fish (the kind that would feed 2 people) and you slice a bunch of tomatoes, you dice a bunch of cauliflower, you pan-fry the tomato and cauliflower with some olive oil, add mango-ginger (or maybe paprika or cayenne if you want more kick), you layer that veggie fry onto the fish once it's cooked, if it still needs some twang you sprinkle green olive slices on top, and have a sour cream dip ready on the side. There are ways we could get crazier with the recipe, but let's start small. Listeria is a bad way to go. So thank you for not drinking the other 10% of that milk. We want you to stay alive. "Silence the editor in me" is, in the context of a NaNo, one of the most ambitious goals I've ever seen. Writing brain and editing brain are such disparate forces, aren't they? Hard drives are indeed the salvation of post-production, and I all but begged my colleague Jeremy to invest in one when we had a film company. But he assumed his Windows 10 could hold all our footage without the post process moving like molasses. He assumed wrong. (LOL. Live and learn.) I remember that sprint stream with Lynn and Kris. :) That was fun. Sounds like your process is moving right along. I'll try not to be 5 days late the next time catching up with you.
Hello, I am new here (and to Kindle, sorta still waiting for the delivery). But i just found it funny that i placed the same order, With the same sticker pack, case and kindle. The only difference is i chose MagSafe for that pop socket 😂
I recently started using my Kindle more because I began reading When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker. The physical book is huge, so reading with the Kindle makes me feel like I'm reading faster. You can also change the settings to not show you the stats at all. It is nice not seeing the page number since that can make the reading process a bit harder for me. Especially with these books that are as big as bricks!
this is so smart! i’ve been avoiding certain books on my physical and non physical tbr because they’re longer but now i just might read them on my kindle!
Yay! You got a Kindle. I love physical books but also love my Kindle. You get such a good deal with that KU subscription. If you have not you have to try Liz Tomforde and Kandi Steiner. They are on KU and their books are so good. Can’t wait for your full review after your trial. And your fur baby is adorable!!
Also a (albeit unsolicited) tip! Turn on your airplane mode so your battery will last you waaay longer than having wifi on 24/7! And omg i adore your stickers!! Literally in your kindle era i love it haha
I love the feeling of physical books but like… it’s honestly so satisfying to not even pay attention to be page numbers and just read idk. Love the video! ❤
This explains it perfectly! Physical books feel more daunting to me. It's really hard for me to hold my attention/pay attention, even with a book I actually like. It's also nice being able to have the book wherever without having to remember to take it (I use kindle on my phone)
I will not be participating in camp nano this year, but I will hopefully keep writing. I haven't written in a few weeks, unfortunately because I'm in the editing stage of my most complete novel idea (even though I haven’t edited either, lol), but I hope to change that today by watching writing vlogs to get me inspired! I will not be participating in camp nano this year, but I will hopefully keep writing. I haven't written in a few weeks, unfortunately because I'm in the editing stage of my most complete novel idea (even though I haven’t edited either, lol), but I hope to change that today by watching writing vlogs to get me inspired, and yours are always so upbeat. I really do believe in what you said about the first draft, that it’s telling yourself a story. And then you edit to tell others the story. I believe I saw it put that way by some famous writer, but it just encapsulated what I already believed. I'm glad you've worked through your writer’s block! When I write new words, I normally put the last sentence in brackets so that I don't delete them but can go in a different direction by pretending that doesn't exist, and that normally works for me (sorry for the unsolicited advice, lol). My last draft I had to rearrange chapters but I never re-numbered them, so now the chapters are normal for like the first 17, then it jumps to like 31 or something, it's so funny to look at honestly. I also use romancing the beat! I'm not using it for this one because it's more mystery/thriller than romance (even though there is a romance in it), but I'm using it for my (you guessed it) romance novel I haven't finished yet. I like what you said about romance characters not hating each other for crossing some line, but for misunderstandings and false impressions of personalities, I feel like that requires not as much suspension of disbelief to read than full-on hating each other. I'm honestly terrible at outlining, but there are some stories that just need it, like a far in the future project. This one needs more of one, because it's a mystery and needs like, a lot of structure and clues to keep track of. I personally vote for the scrivener set up video! I'm brand new to the software and I feel like I'm not using it to its full potential. I like that you end writing sessions when you're happy with the work, I really should do that. I've been experimenting lately, seeing what point I start to lose interest- be it time or word count- and trying to stop before that so I don't see it as a chore. Thanks for the vlog!
putting an alternate segment in brackets is so smart! very similar to the capture feature on scrivener that i use, a full video will definitely be in the works soon!! also i LOVE mystery/thrillers that’s so exciting! best of luck on your writing projects🤗
I love seeing young Black women be successful!! It gives me the courage to continue writing my book <3 It’s also even cooler that your Christian! It’s hard to find that in youtubers nowadays
This channel is my one of my fave YT channels, you have actually got me to write everyday. It’s been almost two months and I now always carve out time to write. I signed up for nanowrimo yesterday 😂🎉
Groceries, making jam and writing a rom-com? 😩 Girl, you're so productive ❤ This was a fun catch-up vlog! Glad you're still getting the words down Vee 🫶🏾
