So studies suggest over 100,000 miles the average modern EV is going to see a 15/20% depreciation in range. Meaning this car at worst will still do 200 miles on a full charge, after 100,000 miles. How many of you doing over 200 miles every day? EV are just fine for the vast majority of ppl, especially those with a driveway. Don’t get me wrong, if you live in a flat and park on the street I can appreciate why they may not make sense. But it doesn’t mean they’re useless, it just means they don’t suit your lifestyle.
Fantastic review loved it but I think the figures are a little bit off . Mine is a stage 2+ with catted downpipe and a tu Supra hpfp making 471bhp & 712 nm.
i cant see why people are worried about depreciation, when it's a consumer sports ev. It's not a collector's car or a high end exotic, majority of people who purchases cars never or intended to gain from a trade in.
Saying a tycan is an agteway into porsche is wild. lol Everyone expects depreciation, but a porsche, dropping half the price and only a year old? Lol also its coming from a traditional company that doesn't support Ev. Also, the trans has issues when there doesn't need to be. But yea, also 250 miles range is wild, and you have to TRY to get that. To charge 150 to 200k for this is wild. Entry porsche is a cayenne or cayman, not this. Plus, if anything goes wrong, it's your ass. The tycan is way more complicated than it should be, and that's the porsche way. It works. Ut not on evs. Plus pors he is already trying to sell you the next year without support for the current one. No one is putting $$ into reliable charging and battery support. In the us they just beg elon for use of the network and they get to keep making $$$ without billions of investments. This is why i support tesla over other ev makers. They just make things and you by them and make them rich with no support. My tesla, which i have had for 6 years, has gotten better mo th over month. My range even got boosted by 40 miles from an update, making the car more efficient. That's real support. Thanks, but no thanks, porsche is making Toy Ev to have fun with where, as my tesla feels like a car that i can have fun in.
Obviously you are not actually listening to what MacMaster has been saying since day 1 > EV's are suitable for a very specific purpose... which does NOT suit the needs of most.... exorbitant prices & depreciation aside. I hope MacMaster addresses your hyperbolic commentary... better yet, I hope he offers you an opportunity to appear on camera with him so he can set you straight in the flesh
Ive been seriously considering 😅getting a used one, half price and a few years old seems a great deal. But then its still a lot of money and repairs would be costly so can't brijg myself to do it.
The biggest issue with used cars costing £100k odd is warantee, Consumables / accidents asside the whole car should be good for 10 to 15 years so why not give the car a warantee for its whole lifespan when prices are so high and have set prices for services at different mileages that are easy to see when purchasing? Unless of course you want to make money on the servicing and or don't have confidence in the car that you built and charged so much for?😂 I buy used because i cannot do the salary sacrifice thing, not bothered about depreciation because keep them till they die, knowing a monthly cost is atractive but costly, But having car that could cost a small fortune in service / repairs at any moment is a big no no.
The welder can only be used for gasless welding if you use flux cored mig wire. I like your budget shed. It might not be big enough, but it's pretty cool and better than nothing.
One of the greats, just pulls and pulls. Grip is insane . mine sadly missed. Be ready to spend money if you own one though no matter if you do the work yourself or not. Audi parts for these can be expensive. Search around,i got flywheel from states at fraction of uk cost just one example
Great video. I think you have hit some key points here and I am so glad someone is calling out Mr. Taycan hater for what he is -click bait and hot air. The only challenge I have here is the value. For 50K you can get a 3 year old Taycan with say 40K mileage however for the same money you can get a much newer car with less mileage and still under warranty. I agree the Taycan prices does allow people who could never previously afford a Porsche however buying one and running one (tyre's service (yes they still make you pay for service and it is still reassuringly Porsche expensive) is 2 different stories
Heard about this yesterday and started searching prices today. Now all I need to know is what problems people have had with them. Looking to get one next few months. Not sure which model and what options I should insist on having. My Benz has multi beam led/matrix led that’s a must. And some self driving would be great and adaptive cruise
most used taycans had recalls and got there stuff fixed by porsche on there cost. mine also and its secondhand 4 years old., other than a software update and replacement of an heat element as free recall , no issues nor maintenance costs
Ignorance is your Main Enemy; The reason Manufacturers are moving away from Electric is because their main income is not on Selling cars is Actually on Servicing and Selling Parts. And people always follow the cattle, teach your self about the Car Industry. PD- Electric is only the future to those who understand the benefit.
Great car. I had one for 4 years, with a downpipe, map, and XHP3. Brilliant engine, brilliant gearbox, but sadly slightly lacking in other areas (handling). I think these will go the same way as Subaru Impreza Sti's, ie their used prices will drop to nothing, because every man and his dog will buy one and tune it, and they will fall into chav territory. Then, in another 15 years, standard ones will be so rare, they will be worth a fortune, just as standard Impreza Sti's are now. I now have a standard OG M2, it's slower in a straight line, but levels above in every other area.
🎉 Nice well made video Tom .. Brilliant story & very personal to you but we all can relate to loosing a loved 1.. .. Cannon Hall is down the road from me lol..
Tom, Lovely tribute to your nan, I know Skye very well as we used it every year for six weeks when 45 commando used glen brittle camping site as a base for pre Norway ski training to get our legs and body into shape. We used to do the ridge walks and also scree running down the hills. Cheers Dave
Brilliant video. I own a shadow edition M140i in the same estoril blue, however mine is stock save for a Remus axle back exhaust. These cars are absolute weapons!
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed it, a lot of time goes into putting videos like this out. Please note if you don’t want to win the car, you can Chose a £16k cash alternative which would be a good budget for mods 😉
Incorrect : 5% battery depletion over 8 years is a pipe dream, it will degrade way more and the point is you will never know how much a second hand battery has been depleted : you can't use the luxury tax as an excuse for car depreciation as it is factored into the worth of the car regardless, here in Australia if you purchase a new 911 it is worth AUD320,000 - 90,000 of which is luxury tax, when you buy this car second hand two years later that 90K isn't just scrubbed off the price, the car is still worth a shit tonne. No one said these cars don't handle well, it's just that they have no sentimental value and therefore become obsolete just like phones.
Brought one a couple of Months ago, a 2022 Curcuit version in white. It's a car I've wanted since they came out. I've already done 3 mods and have others lined up. My 1st Homologation special, and my last car I think. I maybe 60, but this car makes me feel 16, stunning little car, inside and out, pocket rocket and definitely turns heads on the street. Thanks Toyota, for making a road going Rally car 👌
480bhp stage 2?! Which lottery dyno has that been on 😂😂😂😂 Mate they don’t even make that stage 2+, they run 460bhp absolute max stage2 with an upgraded HPFP, stage 2 your 440bhp absolute max on a realistic dyno.
Maybe you have seen the dyno results, but it’s incorrect. They 100% don’t make 480bhp on stage 2, they will have manipulated the figures to try sell their maps and its false information. Either that or the dyno just reads really high. What’s the 100-200kph times on dragy?
