Collected my LHD 1.5 in Spain last week Possible the last of its kind and wonderful on the twisty roads.Base SF spec plenty for me and the dog.Unlike the UK RHD version there's a place to rest the left foot and brake lever not between driver and gear stick.Only accessories were grey side indicators to blend with black paint;gangster styli.
Couldn't help but notice the indicator lever is on the left of the steering column, similar to a left-hand drive car. Here in Australia, our MX-5s all have it on the right of the steering column....just saying. Enjoyed your video by the way🙂
@@TomShorrock I couldn't agree more BUT my suspicion is, despite the global market size of the MX-5, it started off (back in 1989) as a right-hand drive car with MAZDA "testing" the market; with its DNA still going strong. I think it exceeded all their expectations and here we are today, hence Mazda having to cater for the "wrong side of the road" market ha! ha! BTW, I have also bought one (the base model RF) waiting for its arrival later this month from Japan (despite globalisation of car manufacture)....one guess on the colour I chose😉. The layout of the cabin IS primarily for our market, as the orientation of the handbrake(next to driver), screen control and even little things like climate control...if you look hard enough. A US RU-vidr commented that the screen control (above the transmission tunnel) was too close to him(impeding his reach), whereas for us it would NOT, being on the far side. I just have a stick for detail and can't wait for the arrival of my AERO GREY METALLIC MX-5. Thank you for your indulgence.
@@TomShorrock viewed your video again and really enjoyed you honest review, especially when you pucker your lips when accelerating and talk about your hair 🤣🤣.Also when you were very genuine, when you said you REALLY REALLY like the car. Keep the videos coming mate.
It’s always a tricky one when it comes to weights, the figures I quoted were from the spec sheet of the vehicle on the day. So I have to take that for face value
