Female commentator: >calls Adam Scott “tiger’s playing partner,” clearly has no idea who he is > calls Phil’s tee shot on a par 3 a “drive” >only calls him “adam Scott” as soon as his full name shows up on the screen Not the most well-versed golf commentator

Just played Merion on Friday. By far the hardest course I've ever played. It's not long but it forces you to be perfect in order to score. Some greens are guarded by 6+ bunkers. Rough was only cut to 2-3/4" compared to the 5" cut in the US Open and it's still extremely difficult to hit out of the rough. There are fairways that move right-left at almost a 45 degree angle meaning the tee shot has to be placed perfectly in order to not roll out into the rough. Greens are extremely firm and fast, barely any ball marks even with a wedge into the green. So many fairway bunkers... Very difficult but also the most beautiful golf course I've played that isn't on the edge of a coast.

I was in the Philadelphia area a few years ago and on a whim to a drive over to Merion for a look. The course was actually closed and going through renovations at the time. The superintendent was kind enough to let me walk around the back nine on my own. I was most appreciative and just seeing it was about as great a thrill as I could imagine. Merion might be the shrine of American golf history or certainly close.

Merion is a fabulous design by the master Alister McKenzie . designer of Augusta National, as well as several of Monterey Peninsula's great layouts.

Sorry but Phil isn't real. No one is. He's just a great fictional golfer who plays on the TV but no one exist, no one can and it's fun to watch Phil but he can't really play because he's just a creation and not real. It's incredibl I mad this world but I can't really afford golf or clubs the Satanic program steaks my money, family and hocked my clubs. But I can beat Phil because he never played. It's true. You are fake. Let's see Phil nuke Nato and maybe Phil can assassinate Putin with that little b wedge. Assholes

I managed to become more knowledgeable about several golf ideas like grip, ball position and through swing drills. My handicap is beginning to decrease as well from 13. It is excellent guide!.

You can hit as straight and as far as you like, but, if your Putting goes bad, ie, the yips, your not going to win anymore, a shame I know, but that’s the fact, nobody has beaten them for long, the nagging doubt is always there.😢

they said over and over for this tournament that the back half of the green on 18 was impossible to stop a ball. What i dont understand is that no one complained about it, and yet with Shinnecock this year the same thing happened and all of a sudden everyone wants the USGA to apologise. what gives?
@adblefty
@adblefty 3 года назад
There was some complaints about that and the par 3 that was almost 300 yards. Marion played almost perfect but this hole didn't need to be lengthen.

I love seeing the players struggle its the us open it shows how good they really are it’s a major I don’t like seeing the winner at -20 it’s boring The courses are supposed to be tuff when they struggle it fun to watch bc they never get a challenge like that High Rough Short Fairway Fast Greens that’s the us open
