I was in the Philadelphia area a few years ago and on a whim to a drive over to Merion for a look. The course was actually closed and going through renovations at the time. The superintendent was kind enough to let me walk around the back nine on my own. I was most appreciative and just seeing it was about as great a thrill as I could imagine. Merion might be the shrine of American golf history or certainly close.
@@kingfwug4186 he would’ve been about as far left as he was past at the very best. Also, he’s probably the best short wedge player ever. Such a tough course, need to be so accurate with all the slopes and elevation changes. Don’t let the fact it’s a short course fool you (except 17th over 225 yd par 3 and 18th 520yd+ par 4 uphill and 0 birdies in 4 rounds of the best players in the world). I agree with you if that’s not apparent btw! The op knows as much about golf as he does about spelling 😂
Rose deserved to win... he outplayed Phil... and what does it matter if he missed the British Open cut? Alot of players did... Justin Rose is a great golfer who played good at the right time.
