@@tamischuster7810 Banana trees love lots of water, and sand does not retain moisture, so in my opinion they might not do well in sandy soil, maybe amending the native soil with lots of compost and worm casting will help retaining moisture, and even topping the soil with some mulch will give you better results growing healthy plants.
My garden beds measure 4x10. This year I grew 7 tomatoes plants but I have grown 10 plants in one bed before, but I had to do some pruning cause they do get wild.
I wanna start a garden but it’s a kinda small area . Do you have any vegetable plants or fruit plants you recommend that stay like small or like medium but are also delicious and produce many fruits/vegtables
For tomatoes, I think Baxter's Bush Cherry Tomatoes from Burpee Organics is a good one, you can get the seed from Walmart. Baby Cakes Blackberry and Raspberry short cake from Bushel and Berry, they are good for pots. Peppers I love shishito peppers they stay pretty small, but you can always Top peppers to keep the small, you just cut the top growth of the plant when it's young, it helps to keep peppers small and bushy. But my favorite peppers this year is the Lesya Pepper, tastes just like a bell pepper with thick walls and crunchy.
There are so many fruits and veggies you can grow in small spaces, what's your favorite fruit and favorite vegetable? That way we can find the perfect one for you , try to grow things that you see yourself buying the most.
They take a long time to germinate, I sowed some in the garden since February and they just started to have good growth, I just mulch them and keep them moist and forget about them. You should try starting them indoors in some seed starting mix, barely cover them with soil and cover the pot with some plastic wrap, mist with some water if it dries up and keep it covered.
Hello ☺️ I use natural cypress wood chips, I get them from home Depot or Walmart, I have been using them for years. But I would do some research about them before applying them to your garden because when I was looking into mulch I read that wood chips might absorb water and some nitrogen from your plants but I haven't had any issues using them and I have been gardening for almost 6 years now. I have tried straw mulch but so far no good luck with it, it always has grass seed, and picking through it is a pain.
Aw I'm sorry. Lol the intro was so dramatic like a Netflix docuseries. Your videographer/editor/director did an awesome job. Also shouldn't your neighbor be liable for that tree? help you pay to fix things or land a hand?
Thank you , it was pretty dramatic 😂 yeah we think the same thing, he should at least fix the fence, but he has not said anything about fixing it , all he did was remove the tree completely off his property.
😂I got hit, too. My young melon snapped on the top, trying to grow on the side now. I'm not sure if Melon will survive. I'm surprised that my first-year fig tree survived. Luckily, I stake my young peach tree
I hope your plants are ok 😊 my fig tree lost a few leaves but it's ok. I have been wanting a peach tree for ever but there are so many I never settle for one, cause I'm gonna have to grow it in a pot. Do you have yours in a pot or ground?
@@theblossomingbloom If you grow the peach from the seed, grow it in a container, such as a 5-gallon bucket, for at least two years. If you buy the peach seedling online, grow it in the ground. Again, just like roses, check the mature height.
I have mixed feelings about growing trees from seeds 🤔 I have been reading about it because I'm growing an avocado tree from seed, it started for fun then the seed turned into a little tree now 😁 but I was reading that trees grown from seed it's a gamble game because most of the time they won't grow true to seed and sometimes not edible, just like apple, that's why there is Crab Apples. But!!! If you grow an edible fruit tree out of store bought seed, you can actually sell it and claim it as unique 😁 interesting stuff!!
@@theblossomingbloom Yup. I read all that story. Peach is different. Peach is true to seed. I bought peach seeds online, and the tree grows so well. Remember to check the USDA compatibility for the peach. I'm looking for a cheap “Shui Mi Tao.” The cheapest I can find online is around $50. The white lady is the next best, and I'm not sure how it is. I will let you know when I have some next year.
I was just reading about the Honey Peach, I have never heard of it. Do you know the chill hours it needs? I wonder if I can grow it here. I was searching but I couldn't find it. I will start a Nectarine seed today, I hope it grows 🤗
I just found ur heavenly peaceful garden, thank u for sharing ur knowledge on plants with us, very soothing vibes in ur voice. I'm subscribing to ur channel now.❤
FYI..... judging from her garden tour videos, and others.I would make an educated guess, that she knows what she's doing. There's more than one way to skin a cat and not everyone does everything the same. Another FYI. Many brands of Coco Coir don't require pre rinsing because the salts have already been rinsed out, so It depends a lot on the brand you are using....
I'll admit I was being a bit antagonistic, but it was for good cause. I may have misinterpreted your sentiment, but the "FYI" came off a bit condescending in my humble opinion.
Hi Mike 🤗 It depends on the Coco Coir brand you get, mine came already pre rinsed with fresh water, I will look for the one I bought and link it. But I'm sure it won't hurt to give it a little rinse before mixing the potting mix 🌱
