Well Sony fanBoy I'm glad you got your Rocks Off about how great Sony products are... But as you said They have to be Judge on their own brand bodies Not adapted with cheap Photodiox adaptors. If you want a real shoot out Try them where they shine not were they are put in bad light just so that you can proclaim that your brand is the best who cares ? certainly not me I am quite please with the results that I get with my latest generation of that lens mounted on my trusty 36MGP full frame sensor without OLP/AA filter Nikon D810 & I'm sure that it would shine even more on the 45 MGP Nikon D850 But so far mines & many others pictures that I saw shot with the AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f:4 VR G Nano ED had nothing lacking in sharpness with the proper camera behind them & a photographer who knew how to use them & it certainly din't involve trying them converted on a Sony Camera. I for one would'nt do it Sony mount is of too poor build quality for me to entrust my precious landscape lens to it especially with yet another cheap converter in between. thanks for the Video Sony Whore.
Conclusion: the $1200 lens better than $500 lens, the mount adapter ring not supports all native functions and not improves image quality. I'm surprised.
I am happy that I came across your review which is very detailed. Actually I was looking for a standard wide angle lens. Thanks you helped me decide my lens, I will go by Tokina.
Please do more of these! Amazingly detailed reveiw. Also I had a question maybe you caan answer. I read somewhere that the Tamron SP 15-30 F2.8 had an opening into the lens when taken off the camera if not zoomed out to 15mm. Is it true?? If so, seems like a massive risk for dust and moisture to get in the lens! Especially as a landscape photographers main lens
Interesting question, altho i cannot confirm or deny that the Tamron has an opening into the lens somehow as i have never heard of this issue, nor did i notice such a thing when testing it. Thanks for watching, and for your encouragements.
Hello, this is YELANGU brand. We really appreciated your video and we now have new product looking for cooperation. We were wondering if you are interested in further cooperation. Looking forward to your response.
The style of construction of the base is better in Glidecam HD1000 than the Yelangu. The longer base give better stability as well and balancing is better by being able to be itself shorten and lengthen. The spaces in the base construction is something special as it allow wind to pass in quick movements and did not flank around against the wind when taking quick curves. The round counter weight in Yelangu is a very bad choice. It spin a little in quick movements and effects the stability and has only one hole while the HD1000 sit with two holes that makes it better. For type of people who can appreciate this type of mechanical stabilizer the time taken to adjust is not important but the performance after the painstaking adjustments. I started with Fly cam and ended trying to buy a better one after lots of electronic gimbals. The movements are more realistic. Flycam has a base somewhat like the Yelangu that also has a rounded counterweight and i hate that. Now is about to be 2021 and i am hunting again the HD series . To me these mechanical stabilizers dont look like a past but like a future to film making.
your focus test is a joke, you put the sony at f4 next to the sigma at f2.8 and samyang at f1.8... who gets a f2.8 lens to shoot at f4?! and you finally did a test at f2.8 with all of them... that is the only conclussive autofocus test for us...
Sony is the most expensive and Canon also is more expensive. So how are you comparing them to Nikon which is the least expensive and you had a bias toward Nikon which you said at the start of the video. Not a good review. Sorry.
You prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Callen Nathanael i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Great video, thanks for that. I believe though you should add the prices of the lenses. For anyone that doesn't know much of photography, would be a great thing. Tokina is almost1/3 of the Nikon price per se
My total respects!!! I want to ask you if you know that sigma 24 70 2.8 emount full frame lens became very fast dusty from inside as i ve see from some people.. I have a7iii with tamron 28 75 and i think to sell tamron for the sigma, but this dust think makes me worry...
Also, if you turn on the Vigneting control on the Canon (using the Canon lens), you will see much better performance. If you use a third party lens you may not get the same result (may not even work). Hence, put a Canon on a Canon!
Great review. Just take a look at any major event you will see that 70% of the pro cameras and lenses are Canon! You didn't have to do this test. The pros already know that.
True as that may or may not be, Nikon and Sony probably claim that is what the pros say of themselves, haha. Shootouts are fun, that's reason enough. On a personal level tho, canon lenses are the best in my experience, but don't tell anyone i said that ok , :0 lol.
I got an old HD1000. The only issue is the bearing. It makes it twist a bit. But way less than shown in this video. I would go with Glidecam alone because of the better bearing. The twisting can wreck all your footage.
Excellent review. I had all those three lenses in their respective ff bodies. I got rid of the Sony because of its color science, particularly with artificial light (plain awful). I still keep the Nikon and use it on a DX body. The Nikon is wayyy cheaper than the other too (1/3 the price), and there are in camera corrections, so I can’t complain. I sold the Canon in favor of a telephoto I needed and replaced it by two cheaper primes. It’s a great lens though.
Hi, thanks for watching. Lens speed controls IQ just as must as F-stop (aperture) does, even as explained in the video. It is good to compare both LCA (lowest common aperture) and WCA (widest common aperture).
@@ggessex Practically it means Sony 35 is in an advantage in this group which is artificial. Any small aperture prime will have such advantage. A 35f3.5 from 40yrs ago will have excellent corner sharpness at f5.6 because the depth of field covers the curvature of field information.
Haha, interesting. While i use Sony cameras, my favorite lenses are actually Canon. I like Nikon bodies like the D850, but i've done four lens shootout videos now, and the Nikon lenses usually don't do so well, and some Nikon fans have gotten upset with me about that, lol. Thanks for commenting :D
Great explanation and overall effort in the making of this video. It definitely deserves more views and thus far is the best comparison that I found. Subbed. Thanks!
I'm a long time Tokina 17-35 f/4 AT-X Pro user and it is much better than the Canon 17-40 f/4 L I used to use, thanks for the awesome job you did comparing these lenses!
