A dump from 76 till 2016, had about as much atmosphere as that other white elephant the big Idea. Was like flogging a dead horse to put it on thd map as an extraordinary venue..
As an Irvine man the Magnum was a big part of my life growing up from a child. Was there the first night it opened (I was 4yrs old) An excellent video! I would like to add 2 more fact about the Magnum. 1) It was the largest leisure centre in Europe when it opened in 1976 2) The council launched a competition open to the local schools to name the new leisure centre and as they say, the rest is history.
Hello, yes you can use any part of this clip. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I'm very rarely on this RU-vid channel and did not see your message until today (23 Dec 23), could you let me see the finished production, I also may still have the original raw drone footage from this day if you need it.
Hi@@carsos00, thanks for replying. That's really great thank you. We are waiting for Heart Research UK to come back to us about the edit we have supplied but I am sure I can share with you a final edit when the time comes. The footage is high enough res for me to use in this film but if I do need to ask you for an original file will through this channel be OK, or is there a better one for me to use to contact you? Regards, André
Thanks, I posted this years before I setup a separate channel for my music collection "The '70s & '80s 12inch collection" and this was one of the first I posted, just uploaded Kool & the Gang - Take My Heart(You Can Have It If You Want It), if 80s 12inch singles is your thing then I've uploaded 100s of them....
@@carsos00 Thank you for the reply and info! .... Yeah, I love all sorts of music! I currently have a liking for 'I specialise in love' (by Sharon) - that's the kind of sound I love!! Keep up the great work xx
First met Sharon when she was with Bette Midler in Cleveland Ohio. Then I met her again in New York City it was so sad to hear about how her life ended. Rock in peace,💖
After these releases, Redd returned to her successful career as a backing vocalist, most notably with the group Soirée, which also included among its members Luther Vandross and Jocelyn Brown. In early 1992, she had a UK top 20 hit with a re-recorded version of "Can You Handle It", with "Tom's Diner" remixers DNA and appeared with the duo, singing live vocals, on BBC One's Top of the Pops on January 30. Following the success of this new version of "Can You Handle It", she recorded a single entitled "All the Way to Love", with L.A. Mix's Les Adams. This was to be her last solo recording and remains unreleased. In the midst of mounting a comeback in the early 1990s, Redd died of pneumonia on May 1, 1992. Dance Music Reportmagazine reported that her death was AIDS-related. The virus had weakened her immune system, which had become ineffective following the singer stepping on broken glass on stage. In 1993, Redd's vocals featured on the duet track "Under Pressure", as found on her half-sister Penny Ford's self-titled album.
I m sad to see any old racecourses close , the reason for Bogside the proximity of a fireworks factory was poor , the factory should have been relocated , bring back Bogside .
Does any footage exist of Meadowpark hut owners site ( now the paper mill) which was on the old original A736? I spent my summers as a child there with many happy memories.
This is not a promotional video, video editing is something I do as a hobby and the Barut is a hotel I visited many times, hence I posted it on my other RU-vid channel.....
She had some great dance tracks in the early 80s, but sadly died in her mid 40s. I have a few RU-vid channels and stopped posting any music content on this one quite some time ago. Here's my Sharron Redd 12inch version on my YT Music Channel, bought this very vinyl back in late 1982.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D7GOtiu9WDA.html
Wonderful, wonderful track, and as you say offers so much...I posted this long before I setup my music channel, I don't post any music on this channel now...
