I’m a 16 hc that lives in San Martin and practices at Coyote Creek a lot. If you need a playing partner HMU. I usually play at Pajaro Valley Golf Club.
I think you might benefit from a normal length sand wedge / lob wedge. Not that I am any expert but I can’t imagine having the finesse with my specialty wedges at 7 iron length…
What a round! The putting was so on point! You said it right; the course wasn't going to beat you, but you could have. Way to go, with solid puts when you needed them.
"water consumption of approximately 50 million gallons/year of potable water from EBMUD will be substantially reduced due to the elimination of the 18-hole golf course. The RV resort will use an estimated 20,000 gallons/day (based on full occupancy) or about 7.3 million gallons/year, an 85% reduction compared to the current use." The course is owned by an LLC, and they proposed the redevelopment to the RV park/campground. I guess the return on investment on this course just wasn't there. I don't know if it's a PRODUCT of the upcoming closure, or a SYMPTOM, but weekend tee times are pretty easy to get. Service is great, greens are in nice shape, even the fairways last time I played were pretty good, due to a relatively wet winter.
Actually you swing the club pretty well - you sure have fewer mishits than I do. The greens kill you - by any measure, they are extremely slick, which puts pressure on your putting as well as your wedge play. My sense is there are some strokes to be gained there.
The course has changed in the last couple of years a lot better and key is stay below the pin when putting if you can do it. I grew up in santa cruz and for the price there and spring hills are the best
Have played the course a couple of times but it’s been 20+ years since I have been there. Unfortunately the course lost one of its most unique attributes and defenses as a result of the drought years. That would be the ice plant that used to line most of the holes on the back nine. Hit it into that stuff and you had to just take a drop as hitting out of the stuff was next to impossible.
@@GolfParfection That's what I keep hearing. lol Really looking forward to it. I've lived on Oahu for a year now and have always wanted to play this course. We've played Klipper, Royal Kunia, and Coral Creek (and a couple par 3 courses).
Played Franklin Canyon so many times in junior golf. Shame to hear its closing down. Really enjoyed your video though, great golf course and content. Keep up the good work!
my home course, part of the men's league here. BO is a pretty good muni. the layout and the greens offer alot of different challenges. almost 6400 from the whites, over 6700 from blues and 7100 from tips so it's fairly long
