Better to keep the stuffing glands on the bottom. Helps prevent rain coming in. When the stuffing glands are on top water can follow the cable. Keep cables sloped downwards if stuffing glands are on the side.
it has more to do with leverage then it does how sharp they are, if you can multiply the lbs on the back end of the handles it causes the pliers to produce more force so as long as they are at least moderately sharp they should cut through a bunch of things
Looks great, the technique to get the cable hidden between light and junc box looks tricky for us mere mortals, tempted to give it a go but might end up with huge hole in my wall… nice lights, what style are these called? Where are you based, if not to far to nottingham maybe you could do mine ❤
I wired four 12v led panel lights into the interior light system on my van £4 each plus £7 for a reel of wire, it's a game changer. Going to put in an extra battery and a pur sine wave inverter for battery charging and a fridge.
We use plastic caps. They have thin "legs" that stick out of the plaster, so you can see them even when they get fully covered. A tap with the hammer and they're usually cleanly open.
Those look like Fischer brand anchors. Even their plastic anchors are good. 1/4 inch is a good common size for a lot of applications. The key is to use a 1/4 inch bit and make a clean hole. Don’t wobble the bit, just in and out. The anchor should have to be nice and tight when tapped in.
