to keep it short increase your calories and protien intake and slowly implement weight training to your routine, if you cant do a pull up start with dead hangs. do pushups in sets so like 10-15 then pause for a minute and bang that out again. just dont hurt yourself going too hard too early on and make sure you enjoy a form of weight training that you actually enjoy or find beneficial to you

Not even what I said bud 😂, let me know though what did I say that was wrong or what did I say that wouldn't benefit a new soldier? I'd love to hear it!
I am losing weight since last month to join army. It is very helpful to me. Thanks. King, you are active duty , state active duty, , Active guard reserve, or reserve? Thanks for your service!!
@KingCurt209 I heard Agr active guard reserve and sad State active duty. I met recruiters from army and national guard. They say that it's low competitive and I can work my home state. If I apply for those, I can join them first or second try. Is it true that those programs are low competitive and I can work in ca without moving base interstate and abroad? King, please give me some advice as currently active duty. Thanks for your service!!
@ChulSoonK-ud6fh to be honest my knowledge on th guard is limited but what I can tell you is if you do go guard you'll still have to complete basic training and ait. Then you'll be sent home and you have to report to your unit which will be local 1 weekend out of the month and for active guard I'm not sure it may just be like a 9-5 job
I was in the army for 10 years, was not the US but i think some things are the same. Things you describe are all well and good but if you want to get ahed it is all about speculation, to get yourself in the right place at the right time. For example, we were training for mission in Kosovo (including going to Grafenwer and Hohensfeld) they said give it your best, the best ones will go to the mission and it will be a great jumping board. I went as a machine gunner on MAG witch was the rank of one below corporal. The one that staid becouse they did not prov themselfs stayed. When we returned we saw that our unit hat created new platon and the older soldiers that staid were all promotet to corporals in the new platoon, and i was striped becouse the new formation did not have the MG and i was downgradet to rifelman, But all in all it was good, enjoy the road that is most important.
I believe it can be changed at meps, you'd have to talk to your recruiter about that because In my case I had my contract reserved and when i got to meps they pulled it up and I signed for the exact thing my recruiter reserved for me
@FlyConnor12 yes so i got to choose a contract and my recruiter reserved it for me so when I went to meps they pulled it up in the system and I signed at meps for exactly what my recruiter showed me
Haha about to actually shave it off today 😂 appreciate that though I'll be growing it again sometime we just have dress uniform inspections and I want to look as squared away as possible
Work on doing proper form push-ups more than anything also to help you for when it's time to do the acft look into hand release push-ups and train on holding the pushup position for a while also coming down and up slow
The "first 72" and red phase you will be challenged the most so right from the start then it'll ease off a little bit as you get into blue phase but that's all depending on your company and how everything goes for your cycle
Benefits to both I recommend you checkout both and compare them to your own goals and see how either or could help you get closer to where you're trying to be
Reception week at 30th was mostly paperwork, learning how to stand at attention parade rest etc learning rank and studying the blue book. Besides that you'll get issued your uniforms get your haircut medical etc stuff like that
It'll be tough at start with recovering from the workouts, all the exercise etc but just know once you get out of basic you'll be in the best shape of your life and then it's up to you to keep that going!! You got this
Appreciate you bro 🙏 going in to basic July 1st. Kinda in the same boat as you with the more powerlifting style. Completely switched up my training for these last 2 months to a lot of body weight and running. just one heavy day a week instead of all 4-5
its for sure a dramatic change in workout programing but remember this is temporary! once you finish up in basic and ait and get out of that tradoc environment you can slowly get back into that powerlifting style workout routine at your unit.
@KingCurt24 Thanks, I've been asking around and have been getting similar yet different awnsers, but some have usually said this, just needed confirmation.
