Not that many people actually POV test drive BMW's, With BMW being my 2nd favourite company, This definitely helped me decide between Mini (my first) or BMW. Your POV's are realy good, Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks alot this really gave me the perspective of driving a Astra that I've been looking for, the interior didn't look so great in the pictures I've seen online but the red began to grow on me ngl
ive read through a few not all of the comments on here and very surprised at the low amount of negative comments regading these cars, examples being dpf problems ,head gasket ,electrics ,maf sensor ,battery and windows that just open magically overnight when your in bed ,and the dreaded timing belt/oil leak ,they seem to be ok for the first couple of years if you get a fairly new low milage one but the drop in price is consistant with the issues the car has after a few years of owning ,ive owned 2 and im still tempted by the good looks of the car to buy again ,but even though some of the replacement parts are considerably cheaper than higher market cars it soon mounts up when they do start to go wrong
I do not have this car now, it has been a bit of time since I sold it but I had 3 different astras and this one was def my favourite. I owned it for a couple of years and had no issues with it (I think just balancing the wheels and new changing the battery). I think a lot of it is to do with previous owners driving styles and how well it's maintained. I also think that above 100-120k miles, issues probably start to arise but this is more a guess as I haven't owned a high mileage car as it can be cheap to buy but very expensive to keep repairing.
The maximum I tried was 50kW DC and I dont need to for that, maybe for 150kW. There aren't any of those close to where I live so will be a while until I use one I expect.
Hey Vlad, I was wondering how day-to-day charging is for you without a home charger? I live in Glasgow too and I'm seriously considering a Mégane e-tech, but live in a tenement.
I will get one installed in the future but tbh you don't need it, Glasgow has lots of chargers and unless you drive lots of miles, you only need to charge after 160-190 miles so every few days. With a rapid 50kW charger, you can park, watch something on youtube for an hour or sometimes less and you're sorted.
I think I live not far from you, haha. It was nice to hear what sounds like a Glaswegian and Eastern European accent merged together 😂 I love that! (I don’t mean any offence by the way so please correct me if I’m wrong…)
