I'm a Husband, Dad, entrepreneur, adventure seeking boundary pusher. I want to connect with my family, nature and hopefully make some great friends along the path.
These videos are not for everyone - I have no clue what i'm doing so if you're here for knowledge you may want to check somewhere else. I want to learn, to get better and to share what works for me so that it may help someone else to realize that they are no different than me. That we are capable of so much more than we believe we are capable of. I am constantly seeking the same inspiration. So come along on the Path and let's see where it leads!
Dude you CRUSHED it!!! I'm so proud of you for running such a great race! You accomplished more than redemption for 2022...you blew it away with somewhere around a 2 hour improvement in time. Dang! Excellent, excellent work out there!! So glad we got to share some trail time this summer in training and to see you at the race and meet your family too. What an awesome day! And, yes, I met my goal for this year and got the marathon finish. Got more work to do.
2 hour, plus!! Even I didn't expect that, but i'll take what I can get when I get it😆!! Already looking forward to what we can do next year!! Congratulations my friend!!
Can't wait to see you at BFC! Looking forward to whatever video you capture there. Going to be fun watching you get that Croix! As far as how this looks...Maybe it's on my end, but the video seems a bit blurry. Perhaps the lighting has that affect?
No, it's like that no my end too. Wonder if that's just the 360 quality...hmm. I have another I'll post up tomorrow that seems much better quality but not in 360 - I edited to regular format. Editing...not my strong suit, lol. Anyway, see you next week - Let's go get it!!!
I’ve been terrible about making videos. Excited for you, brother, can’t wait to see how you do! (It’s Rick Curnutte, we’ve chatted on FB a little.) Glad to see you back on YT, you’ve inspired me to go out and make my return as well. Take care, homie!
It better be me holding a croix😎🤙. I’ve been watching your build up on FB!! I love the trail you’ve built out on your property. I need to do that at my place!!
@@pathtoultra We actually did, took me until later that day to realize it was him but we exchanged some inspiration during the heat of the afternoon for sure!
@@pathtoultra You’re welcome and I wish you the best of luck with your channel. Checkout my channel. I give tones of advice about many different things.
Dude! That was a helluva effort!!! No one likes a DNF but there is no shame in what you accomplished. It was great to briefly meet you on Meth Lab Hill as you were coming down and I was heading up to my inglorious fate. Lol. (I'm the guy who commented about Stump Jump.) This video does no justice to the reality of BFC with those arduous climbs and the technical terrain. BFC is no joke. The established trails are bad enough, but the off trail elements are pure evil. There are a few shots in your video where your face tells the whole story best. Agony! Hope you come back to get it done next year!
😂inglorious fate!! 😎🤙Yeeeaah!! I’m registered, we’ll see if I get in off the bat here. I think I’ll get back next year and when I do….I will have redemption😏. BFC is special and it’s nice to be a part of it all. And everything off trail is, indeed, evil 😈.
@@pathtoultra I'm registered too and hoping to be back next year. Even if we don't get in during the initial lottery, you've seen that many, many get in during the "month of fear" when others drop. You can pretty much count on being in the race if you really want it bad enough, and especially if Laz believes you're someone who will respond quickly and actually follow through on your commitment. At least that's been my experience. I think you have an excellent chance. Just be sure you're training as if that's the case so you're ready when the time comes. Then go get that Croix!!!
Thank you, it is a great race. Run Bum Tours is one of the best race companies. And that area to Ga is seriously rugged. At the coldest probably low 40’s, it would’ve been absolutely perfect without the wind. That wind made things pretty uncomfortable at times😂.
Running R2R2R is a dream run of mine! So epic! Thanks for sharing your journey with us! Well done! I watched the entire video while multitasking at work ;-)
Make it happen, sooner because it will call you back! I went last May and it had a supernatural effect, it’s very difficult to describe. I knew I needed to do it in the winter, it was even better! Next crossing will be during a full moon and I’ll depart at sunset. 😎 It remains my #1 run!
Florida trail running is quite a bit different than running in the Rocky Mountains! It's pretty, but different. I'd be scared that I'd encounter an alligator! Haha
I love them so much, second pair in a different color though. They both lasted about as long as each other. Spoiler alert: I lose them in the drink in tomorrow’s video!😂. They’re super lightweight.
I once rolled my ankle 15 feet from the end of my run on the neighbors sidewalk. LOL! Took a couple days off from running and decided that since it didn't hurt to walk on it, it must be ok for easy running too. So, I started running again. Turned out alright!
Just found your vlog and glad I did! All the best getting back out there! Stay positive and get some strength work in to rehab/prehab and prevent the Plantar from recurring! Keep pushing!
Welcome back buddy! Easing back in is the way to victory!! Just like GDR, this too shall pass and you will be right back where you were. Stay the course!!
Really appreciate you putting this video out man. I ran the Mercedes Marathon in Feb. without any pavement training runs & the end result was stress fractures in both shins. It's been a difficult few months seeing some of my favorite trail races come & go, I can feel my stamina fading away & I'm not getting my release from the stress at work that I normally get. I'm focused on taking care of some other things while I heal but boy am I ready to get back to the grind. Hang in there, sounds like you're on you're way back & you'll be stronger than ever in no time.
Hopefully you’re easing back in yourself! We adapt if we can get out of our our way! I’m looking forward and just trying to be stronger. Hopefully I’ll be solid to run the fall lake to ocean, then the just survive 125 in January. What’s on your horizon?
Yes I believe you can drive right up to where the thumbnail photo was taken. But I’m not sure how to direct you there😊. www.hillsboroughcounty.org/en/locations/blackwater-creek-preserve
Sorry I’m a day late here. But I have no real night filming insight. The cameras like the red headlamp the most. But that’s also the most useless one😂. What race and how’d it go?
I don’t do any running but I like to do some weekend warrior hikes. My father lives at the top of the Nancy Womack. I just got done doing the 77 foothills trail.
Nice - i'd like to do foothills! I have a buddy next door in Bent Tree who just set the KFT for unsupported O&B with his Dad on the Foothills!! @Endurancehunter
Hey Josh, my name is Hunter! I don’t know if you remember me but I met you during the race right before Jake Bull aid station. I absolutely loved hearing that you were back for redemption, you’re a badass Joshua and best of luck in your future races!!
Another solid run Josh, way to get after it... I'll be down at Vogel in about 6 weeks for Cruel Jewel 100. Great to see some of the views. Be well buddy.
@@pathtoultra spent 41 hours somewhere between heaven and hell. But, got that buckle. It's a beast of a race, humbling to the core. What's your next adventure? I'm considering Indiana Trail 100 in October to finish out three 100s this year
@@Endurance83 I seem to be planning further and further out. Plan is to run the Lake to Ocean 100k in October and in January they run a 200k on the same trail - the Just Survive 125. Congratulations I know the Jewel is one of the toughest east coasters!!
Haha, thanks for the compliment! 11:35 was my moving time. My total time was actually12:20. I think when I do this again I'll opt for the 2.5 mile shorter version by ascending SK.
Great run Josh! Not sure if I saw the leader or a couple people back on that seminole ranch out and back as I finished about an hour behind you. Great to compare your race footage to what I captured and see it from different angles.
Will be glad to see you turn that burden in! I could tell from last year that the DNF was a tough pill to swallow, but as you stated, you weren’t ready. Your going to crush it this year.
Do you ever run at the Blackbear Wilderness area? It's a bit busy there but it's a nice area with a lot of wildlife opportunities. We made a point to visit when we lived in Tampa, but it was too far of a drive to really go frequently.
This actually makes me miss Florida. It has just a different beauty that can't be found anywhere else in the country. Of course, I've not met nearly as many dangerous animals anywhere in the Appalachians as I've met hiking in Florida - LOL And swamp-mucking can definitely get old. But it IS beautiful. 🍊🐊🐂🐗🐍🦟 Keep rocking it!
