The Georgia Death Race is a 74 ISH mile trail running race from Vogel State Park to Amicalola Falls State Park in North Georgia. Runners are required to carry a 1 lb railroad spike the duration of the race. If you finish then you throw this nail in the coffin and get an engraved spike. The race has 16,000 ft of climbing and 16,000 ft of descent. It is relentless. IT has been called the craziest and most fun race East of the Rockies. 2022 was the 10 year anniversary of the race.
Aid station food was on point. The whole Run Bum Tours team did an awesome job. Aid stations are perfectly spaced. I highly recommend Run Bum Tours Races and GDR specifically.

Around 30 minutes in I was talking about running past the start, I meant Finish (lol). There are 603 Steps at Amicolola, not over 1000 (lol). It felt like over a 1000 for sure!
