I remember the Lolitas in San Diego would meet spontaneously at Balboa Park and on Sundays at steampunk conventions. Not sure why it was Always on Sunday. You could use the word “Lolita” at a steampunk con. I guess nowadays you could get away with cottagecore. Or any of those styles instead of saying Lolita. Wasn’t it called Maiden Style or something in Japan before Lolita?
With me I have anxiety to try and dress like this, but i want to build up my confidence to wear Lolita fashion. But im worried about wearing it in public since people in my town can be really horrible
42Lolita was so so so accommodating when I ordered some items that were on backorder. They sent out a large portion of my order and the rest separately when the products finally arrived to them! I had such a nice experience ordering from them and I can't wait to get a few more accessories in the future!
Thank you Callista! I will admit I was feeling a little disappointed at their plus size selections, especially when there's brands there that I knew offered up to a 5xl but they only listed smaller sizes, I'll have to look through the regular sizes and see what's there again.
ive used 42 agent before when they were a taobao agent only and was super excited when they stared their own show i just received my first order from 42 Lolita shop and am extremely happy everything fits super well which as a plus sized Lolita is always hard their sizing information is wonderful i got a blouse and socks and a wig and everything was perfect

As much as I want to participate in the fashion, I have issues with fabric weight and the feel of certain fabrics against my skin, so I'm hesitant. I got this dress 2nd hand a while ago in the size 2. It is true to size but if you have a longer torso+ and a saggy bust (Im 130cm) the straps may be too short for you. I wear the straps halter top style~ I’m 5’2 for reference! You look absolutely beautiful in this dress 👗
I remember a month ago I was at the local bus station wearing a coord, and two old ladies popped the question of "why are you wearing that?" With confused and disgusted faces. When I told them I was just an eccentric person who enjoys alternative fashion styles from Japan. This response seemed to really stump them and I just bid them good day after that xD I think they were surprised that I wasn't embarrassed by it.
I have the tartan release of this dress ( before they made their plus size range, im just lucky enough the original release still fits comfortably) and it's definitely one of my favourite dresses I've ever owned and wear all the time! 😊 And I've owned dresses like Iron Gate in the past (RIP skinny days 😅)
I have no hair from medical issues and wear all the don'ts of short hair accessories (large rectangle headdreses, head eating bows etc). Does it look ridiculously imbalanced? Most likely. Do I care? Definitely not 😂 Wigs are the devil! I cant wear wigs everyday it gets so hot in Australia. 😅
I love the idea of 2 hair clips next to each other. My hair is not short, but I can style it into a bob, and I think I will try this next time I do that!
I cant browse taobao without needing to create an account (my phone number got banned) but luckily i can copy the link address, put it into my service and it mostly works 💪 finding stuff is so hard though
