Joanna Gleason--smart, underappreciated actor. Did a great job playing a manipulative wrench of a mother with Mark Wahlberg in "Boogie Nights."

Ellen, you really killed it on the $20,000 pyramid. You were definitely calm, cool, and collected during the $15,000 attempt.

Mel had previously been a Pyramid contestant in 1979 featuring Tony Randall and Dick Cavett and she would be a celebrity player herself on the premier week of the John Davidson version in January 1991 along with Earl Holliman

Why didn't Liz Torres keep this haircut, and look. She's so hot here! Also, Beverly Garland and Lee Grant look like they're related (at times).

😦 Mel is 'Hope' from the TV program 'Thirtysomething' ! And the lady in K-9 with James Belushi as well as several other things. I KNEW she looked like her, so I researched a bit. Wow ! This was before she made her acting debut. Interesting. 😊

It's definitely interesting to see WOF before Vanna and Pat. This was a definite game show, but when watching, there seemed to be a lot of awkwardness to just, everything. Woolery was the only one that seemed relaxed and normal to me. Susie and her whole deal just came off as odd, I dunno, I'm just used to Vanna and Pat cause that's who I always remember seeing on the show.

These New York based game show sets look so outdated and 'cheap' compared to California shows from same era. I think of Price is Right, Match Game, Split second and others as having the latest 'hip' colors for their sets and carpeting. They also have digital displays for money totals. Not as mechanical and 'clunky' as Jeopardy. Maybe some shows had larger budgets and more ad revenue? This is just an observation. Love these old full episodes of seventies game shows regardless where they originate.

I don’t see it that way. To me, the simpler manual equipment adds to the formal jolly feel of the show. No need to update the equipment. This Jeopardy! was doing very well until Lin Bolen ruined everything by moving it to an unfavorable time slot in an effort to cancel it. This was truly the best Jeopardy!
