Correct me if I'm wrong, but that number generator prop was previously used in the failed 1982 pilot of "21" hosted by Jim Lange.

Gene Rayburn didn't stay long with this show. Joe Farago took over as host in December. Match Game is Gene's best fit. He had great times with that show, especially 1973-1982 years. Also I liked the 2nd format with contestants answering questions for cash instead of seconds, and prizes for solving puzzles, and champions won more bankcards by solving another puzzles for more bank cards. Joe Farago was the best emcee. He should have hosted more game shows after Break the Bank was canceled. He would be perfect for Blockbusters 1987 revival, Classic Concentration, Blackout CBS 1988 or even Daytime Wheel of Fortune CBS 1989-1991 and NBC 1991

Gale didn't know the songs from Oklahoma! and later in the run a contestant stumbled on the title song from Camelot: "In short, there's simply not/A more congenial spot/For happily-ever-aftering than here in..." and the player guessed London. I guess those on the West Coast aren't as familiar with show tunes as those on the East Coast.

This endgame was a qualified disaster of disorganization, and the opening play was too much like super password. But, watching these eps is addictive!

I thought once you broke the bank you were automatically retired.

Hint: They clown around. Clues: Peanuts; Tickets; Barker; Lion; Trapeze, and Clowns. Circus is the answer.
