Thank you for sharing! What I noticed with the controller in the video was that the analog sticks had less sensitivity in comparison with the original controller and when I was playing a shooter the aiming was difficult (with the original I had smoother movement).
@@LifeHackerMax well, for me wasn't that easy, because I'm not gamer and have no ps or other game console. I use these (I have a gamesir t1s too) controllers to fly drones. Works actually very good. My problem was, that it doesn't connect via OTG to my latest smartphone (to the olders, excellent). Very minor differences. Had to watch other fake ps4 controllers videos to make sure. The only thing, that's visible, that the "options" text is a bit more far away from the button, than the "share" . Surprisingly good quality.
@@LifeHackerMax the other thing was suspicious is that during connecting via Bluetooth the name is "wireless controller" which is just too simple. However the drone app idintifies it as a original sony controller. And connects to the ps4windows too with no problem.
hey bro , I followed these steps and cleaned my Ps4 , but now the disc is not reading, entry nd eject is working but it shows "unrecognisable disk". any solution? digital games working.
Hey man! Maybe something happened when you connected the ribbons. Make sure each ribbon is in the right spot, inserted enough to make contact with the pins and the orientation is ok (right side up). If you pulled on one of the ribbons and the copper inside is damaged, you might need to replace that ribbon to fix the issue.
Bro I tried this with 4 different cables, and each time I did it, it didn't work. I rewired the cables like you did in the video, but it just won't charge. Idk what I'm doing wrong 😔
Feel free to send me an email with a few pictures. Maybe I can help if I see what you did. The wiring and the plug are important. Have you tried the cable on more than one controller? Maybe the issue with your controller is more than just the back USB port. Also if the LED on your controller is damaged, it might charge without showing it.
@@LifeHackerMax @@LifeHackerMax I managed to get it to work. I saw a schematic of usb wire connections and found that yellow was for positive positive data transfer and green was negative data transfer (or vice versa). I then just figured I should combine the two wires and connect it like you showed with the yellow and green wires basically just being a green wire, and it worked.
Tbh I jus had this problem wit my PS3 and I don't wanna go through all that I slapped the Disk reader and I tapped the power button.............................magic
Thank you very much for the usefull, clear, and well done video: it helped me a lot. Congratulations from a brazilian guy. You got an "up" and an inscription. Thank you again.
I forgot to take that one out. Min 5:33, you can see it on the plastic chassis in the middle. You should be able to pull it out with some tweezers. Pull gently and be careful not to break the pins.
@LifeHackerMax I think there's some adhesive holding it in. That mofo ain't coming out. I broke that frame it's in anyway, so I'll probably just break it to get the speaker out. I already have replacement frames. Thank goodness for AliExpress.
I just bought a used one for £80. I actually bought one after getting a psvr2 and enjoying it alot. There are still psvr games that i dont think will ever get ported that i wanted to play so i made the jump on getting a cheap one. The thing that swayed me is i looked at my ps library and noticed i already had 20 psvr 1 games on my account that i've just acquired from being a ps plus subscriber for 10 years. So i thought why not. Also i just played and beat astro bot on ps5. So playing rescue mission is a big draw.
I legitimately just bought one 2 days ago off FB marketplace for 100$ Guy kept it in pristine condition came with games wand charging station, hooked right up with ease, I absolutely love it! Wife came home said I looked ridiculous, till she saw I was playing Iron man, que to 5 minutes later shes flyin and BLAM BLAMING.. It was amazingly hilarious. Than she did the macarena 😂 She can't wait to play again tonight.
If I have a cable that is usb on both sides, I only have to alter one to make it fit the ext port right? Or do I still have to do the red green black wires?
I use the PSVR1 a few nights a week. It’s the only VR headset I’ve played and I love it. I’ll upgrade to PSVR2 eventually Astro Bot is probably the coolest experience I’ve had.
I don’t understand exactly where you encounter difficulties but if you are referring to the white light diffuser on the back, it has to fit in a specific spot in order for you to close the case. Don’t force it, take a better look at the video and try to find the error. I hope you figure this out.
You need to use data cables (with 4 wires). Some cables are only for charging and have only 2 wires. Best advice I can give is to find some cables that have the same color combinations as mine (4 wires red/black/ white/ green). This way you’ll make the right connections. From my experience the cables that have different wire colors replace one of the colors with another. If you have blue white red and black, most probably the blue is instead of the green (but it’s only a guess).
Thanks for making this video. My PS4 controller stopped charging, and wasn't sure if I should swap out the battery, swap the USB, or buy a docking station. With this, I was able to charge the controller, thus verifying that the USB port was dead, and didn't have to spend $20 on the docking station. Thanks again!
I paid 150€ for mine so I would think 50€ would be a great price unless there is something wrong with it or the system was incomplete. Then I would think twice about it.
@@Pro18YT does it come with the move controllers? Those are about 30€ / piece in my country. If you don’t get the controllers and the camera, when you add them up you get 60€ for 2 controllers, 50€ for camera, 50€ for the VR headset (btw check for all accessories: processing unit, speakers, cables). So about 160€. I personally prefer to buy them bundle if I buy them used. I get to test the system from the seller to know is functional. I buy used products from local bazaars (not eBay) so I get to go and see the product before buying.
Hi so I put back the controller together but my left joystick not receiving input to go keft or right and is always moving my game character or screen upwards. It turns out that the green box connecting to the analog sticks deattached from the controller so I was wondering if the controller will work anyways. If it will not do you know if I can reattach it myself or If I can fix it?
Hello! I hope this will help explain better how the green box works (potentiometer) and hopefully you can place it correctly on the stick: DIY PS4 Controller Stick Drift Repair ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iF7ukKtyHco.html
Hi bro , i need help with my dualshock 4 controller i changed the circuit inside of it and everything else works but it doesn't turn on wirelessly.,any fix?
How do you know the wireless function doesn’t work? What are the signs? Have you tried turning on the controller into pairing mode? (Push the share and ps button at the same time and hold until the backlight blinks) Can you search for the controller on your phone via bluetooth connection? Does the phone see the controller?
thanks for video, but the question is: is camera and controller match TV face with your longer LED? camera detect smaller area, your innovation may be resulted to be disarray between TV image and LED's.
The camera is not that smart to detect the size of the screen. You position the camera to see the screen and select the shape of the TV from the phone within the application. The calibration worked flawlessly for me even with the smaller TV.
@@LifeHackerMax thank you. for controller dimension of LED's is set in software by defult. when you used smaller camera limit (small TV), how controller recognized the LED's colors. for example, corner of TV may be red, but which number of LED's can be red by controller? if you check this, please inform me. it is important for me.
@peymanucf the controller splits the width of the tv into the number of LED’s on that strip. As long as you don’t cut the strip and shorten the distance between each two LED’s on the strip (as I did in this video), the number of LED’s on a strip is the same as the controller knows but the total length of the strip is smaller. So the LED’s will light up in the right spot. If you would cut the strip to the TV’s length, the controller would light the LED’s in the wrong position.
Hi I was trying to fix my analog sticks woth stick drift and somehow disconnected both red and black cables from the circuit board. Will the controller still work if that is the case?
@@texx3216 hey! Those wires are for the vibration motors. The controller will work but one or both motors will not. Make sure the wires are isolated at the end if you decide to close your controller without soldering them back. This way you can be sure they won’t short circuit something on the electronics.
@@LifeHackerMax Ok and also I broke one of the cables connecting the pad to the controller ontop of the circuit board so I tried using another one from another controller but it not fitting. I think part of the cable is still inside the port or prob the other cable is not the right size.
I really like that you presented small details like the disassembling risks, but even more, the display of the way the magnet is supposed to be fitted. And that is just to name a few. Really important details for the disassembly and assembly of my controllers.
Also, with a GPU above a GTX 970, an old PS3 camera, and some third party software apps on PC? It's possible to use the OG PSVR headset not only with some Steam VR titles, but also an increasing back catalog library of FPS and racing titles. Including GTAV and Titanfall2. ISYN
I got the PS4 gen PSVR back in 2020 for my son's PS4 Pro. I also did a thermal paste/fan/SSD upgrade to the console. Overall? It's been awesome. I got him basically EVERY controller... Racing wheel, HOTAS (Star Wars Squadrons is fantastic), AIM controller, Move. Star Wars gave me no motion sickness. Gran Tourismo however? Bleagh! I almost puked! Hahaha! A+ Wanderer (Best graphics hands down) AAA+ Fruity Shooty-A Space Junkies Resident Evil VR-AA+
@@alkhan44 it is a great question that doesn’t have an easy answer. The resolution is very low 960x1080, so the picture is not as good as you would see on the TV. I can’t compare it to other VR headsets yet because I haven’t tried others so far. But I am okay with it. I think it depends on the expectations one has. I would say it’s good considering how old it is and the money I paid for it. If you wondered about the quality in comparison with other VRs maybe someone who has experienced more headsets can provide better clarity on this.
@@alkhan44 one more thing: all of the shots with in-game footage where taken by me with the phone straight through the PSVR lens. That is actually the quality of the picture as a perspective. I hope it helps.
0:30 you forgot to mention PC as well. I use it for sim racing on pc and i love it. It is my first vr headset by the way, 100 times better than pancake.
