That's... not a very good way to describe the issue you're having. If the game is the unmodded 1.06 version, it has to work. The concept of aggroing those two mobs against each other is too straightforward for it not to.
@@Hachimen I use the disc 1.06 nothing and my problem is that they dont even do the spells you see in this video i know how to dodge them i can lure them but the spell isnt comming you get there so yea its not working.
@@NeonX36 Their expected behavior should be 1 "gas cloud" spell upon aggro. Then they will single target cast for a while before using the gas cloud again. Is that how the AI behaves in your game? If not, perhaps external issues could be at play.
@@Hachimen Yea i seen it on your Video but there first Spell is always Acid Shot instead of Acid Cloud so i guess its not working on the Oldscool Disc version as i say i tryed it arround 20x and i always came up whit the same result.
Took me 5 years to finish it...only because I wasnt smart... At best I could finish in 5 hours... I am amazed by all the strats you did to get it done faster than 2 hours.
Thanks, and glad you've found your way through in the end. Best to keep in mind a speedrun like this comes from purely focusing on the shortest path possible. In every regard. And fun fact: I've since obsoleted the strats for Doskias, as there's a way to just reset enemies' charge bar thanks to a design oversight. I'll be implementing the strat in my No Early Doskias run, which won't be that much longer than this one: you only have to fight Connor, the Magis, Markham & Alisa, and finally Doskias. At least in the route I've planned on doing.
Sadly, most of the game revolves around muscle memory, so the only way is to "understand" which angles are needed to get the required height. There are plenty of tutorials out there.
@@Hachimen What a coinsidence! Just today I found a way to get there via glitch. If you stand next to the pole with the hammer facing down, press alt F4 to quit the game, start it again and you'll be launched in the air and land on the rock.
@@Hachimenthe any% category in getting over it did exist, but it’s basically dead because even it isn’t that interesting. I personally think speedrunning the game glitchless *looks* uninteresting but actually has a lot of interesting strategy and nuances.
Thanks! I cannot control this for the life of me, since the actual GOI is the speedgame I put time into, but grinding PBs in that game could be a full time job. Diminishing returns in speedruns are a bitch to deal with.
Hi hachimen, I was just wondering if you have seen the new speed runs in the world's hardest game , I can't believe you made a run of it 17 years ago ..
@@Brick138 I did hear there were some new faces, and hsblue grinding out new runs, which is cool for a game that's less accessible these days. Five extra seconds from those unintuitive collision strats over the old WR by Ganondorf is pretty damn impressive.
fake, you didn't get stuck on the tiles near pillars /s nice work. But still you never encountered any glitches that trouble me - stucking on tiles, shock aura not disappearing from operator...
Appreciate a comment from someone who's actually tried this fight. At 0:49, you can notice that I do indeed get hindered by the surrounding rubble. :) It took extensive practice to learn to mitigate these little pitfalls, but the general idea is to visualize a path you roll along that resembles a square and falls outside of the invisible pillars, as outlined by the bricks in the tiles. To a trained eye, you can actually observe this difference in strategy compared to my earlier vid of this fight. The shock aura (Quen?) duration appeared consistent in the EE version with displaced pillars that I'd played.
@@Hachimen As someone who struggled deeply with those corners, I feel the pain. I made a short yt video half dedicated to how annoying they were here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zC2nuLvBbAU.html Another thing is you occasionaly get hyper aggressive gargoyles that slide across the entire room to kill you in one hit. Felt so good to finally beat it on try 30+ lol
@@Niftiest112 Excellent vid, lol. You managed to capture a lot of the crap that happens in this. I had to take advantage of those little nooks in textures at the edges because of the immense RNG aggression. It's very easy to underappreciate how difficult they really are to avoid.
I remember saving and loading right when I was going into a boss fight, and the game glitched and instantly killed it. Afterwards all battle ended instantly
A glitch like that would be a major time save, but at a glance it doesn't seem possible. The game disables the hotkeys for saving and reloading the moment combat is triggered, and even timing it frame perfectly with the screenshot buffering doesn't help. I would know since there's an unskippable encounter next to Eagle Wing. Do please share if you remember more, though.
Well i still sometimes play this game now i have a mage wigor lvl 2(mana) and basic fire arrow and can do brigand loot....but i am not sure how i am gonna get 1k gold for better arrow or fireball :D 4gold per boar :)
the start with gold is really rocky... once you get to the city of the undead you can kill enemys top left in the *undead* mission they have like 50 gold per mob or you can hunt pigs for *hard leather*. i made the mistake to hunt orcs but in the game they are totally overpowered due to the *strengh* spell and they dont got any gold like 4-5 per mob and the chance to die its pretty hi than they swarm you.
I was never the speedrun record holder for that game, but I do still have the fastest time for level 18 after 3 years :) It is the hardest stage in the game. Just a single frame not even the WR holder was able to match. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OrhEZHKmibY.html
I'm having a s*** ton of trouble getting this to run on my PC any suggestions I know it's kind of random but don't see many videos about this game unfortunately
My speedrun starts from a hard reset, so no, no extra settings whatsoever. 11 stages is the hard mode, and to unlock that you have to beat the normal mode and then soft reset. As this is any%, beating the final boss and viewing the credits completes the speedrun. This is the accepted convention for the majority of speedrun communities.
