Hi Dana. You were on my mind so I decided to see if you posted anything recently. Well, another year has gone by. How are you and Twin doing? 2023 was something else, huh? Happy New Year. 2024 is - well, you know. How is your Chinese coming along? Well, that’s all. Hope you two are okay.
Thank you, Dana. I just moved into an apartment from a shared condo. This was a good move, but I admit I was spoiled having a washer and dryer in the old unit. Like you, I have no hook ups in my place and with only one washer and dryer for a 10 unit building it is a challenge. Our washroom is well kept, but it only takes coins and the dryer is $2.50, and washer $1.75. I researched the heck out of these combo units and it just makes sense. I got one brand and the washer nor the spinner worked. I returned that one, and I got another brand. Golden! I was also positioned to get a small portable dryer that works Perfectly with the almost dry clothes after the spinner. I'm single and live alone, but I KNOW families spend TONS of money on laundromats and laundry rooms not only with the cost, but their TIME as well. Thanks for the cleaning / maintenance idea. I've been looking for a reviewer to make some recommendations. Now, many building management companies are NOT cool on having washers and dryers in our apartments so... keep this mind if your thinking on getting one. Thanks again for a GREAT review.
Hey, great review...quick idea for drying; as the clothes are hung on a rack to dry, just turn on a box fan and let it blow on the clothing. It will dry much faster!
I just got a very similar model and you answered all of the questions that I needed to have answered. Thank you so much. I am now going to check out some of your other videos. I live in Pittsburgh in an apartment, and have always tried to do little life hacks to make it the way I want to enjoy it. You will never find me with a lawnmower or a snowblower, but you will find me now with a small washing machine! 🙌🎉😀🤓❤️
Does the Seattle freeze carry amongst other ethnicities? I am gay and a white guy but always grew up around blacks and Hispanics and prefer to live in those communities as that’s just where I feel more comfortable. I may be accepting a job in Seattle soon so this is why I’m asking. Thanks!
Please make an update on life in Seattle now ! I’ve been in Washington state for 3 years in March and I can’t believe it! I watched your Seattle videos way before I moved here but I chose to live in Spokane! I have a love hate relationship with this place but it’s more love as I am able to make a good living here and that plays a big part in my life! I am considering moving closer to the Coast though as Spokane is just lacking in diversity and the weather isn’t the best ! We get the gray with no rain lol ! Anyways it’s nice to hear your in school ! I start nursing school in February which I am so excited about
Is machine loud because I’m not supposed to have machine in Apt I was going to put in my bathroom too and closed door when it’s on. But if it’s to loud wonderful if neighbors will hear in hallway
RainCityDana, I am so happy to hear from you. You look like a trillion bucks.I was worried about you for months. Now I am happy. keep posting, you are missed.
I already decided to buy one of these, but had to do a large amount of laundry first so I went to the laundry mat and was staggered to find out that it was $4 just for a wash. Ordered one of these machines while waiting for my laundry to finish. I just know that with the way things are going it is going to get even more expensive.
Just in case you haven't heard by now, there are mini dryers you don't have to vent out a window, and gadgets you can put on the exhaust hose so it's not a problem. They weren't available 5 years ago when I had my little workhorse portable washer.
Ive had my portable washer for 3 years now and its wonderful. I put agitator balls in the wash and bought a portable dryer from amazon. Pretry much a blow dryer in a small tent. Dries well.
Hello! New here to your channel & obviously, 3 years behind :-) I just ordered a portable washer ( Zeny ) been doing the bucket method due to the hose doesnt connect to faucets. Definitely trying to find a connector to fit. Anyway, I love how open and honest you are about the portable and about life & being frugal. I know I read where your washer eventually stopped working & was wondering if you invested in another one?
I am from Michigan and one thing I have noticed is that you find those type of passive aggressive prejudice individuals up here too who just automatically assume, I do not have money for something. I notice when I do have money, people end up replling away (especially people who thought less of me). I just take advantage of people's ignorance and allow it to work out in my favor. For example, I could be working a job and I have coworkers ect around me, and they would automatically just pay for my stuff or offer help because they assume I have less than.
You should get a floor fan and hang your clothes if you have an empty closet or even in the bathroom on your shower rod and just point the fans up at the clothing after you spin it in the machine and your clothes will be dry in no time
Rain City Dana!!! so glad you posted!! I am on summer vacation and thought about you. Are you still in Seattle? I sent you a message through instagram, pat. and some numbers. How are you?? You look great, younger and healthier. I plan to work on myself for the summer. Yes, Covid ended!! I am still in Texas, I am trying to get my son and I to the Oregon coast for a road trip, the Pacific Ocean, sounds beautiful, low tides, fish and chips, I want to go with all my heart, I can almost taste the salt water off of Canon Beach. Congratulations on going back to school!!!
I like this video, but I was born in Washington state. Tacoma to be exact. And I grew up in eastern Washington. And eastern Washington state is completely different then western Washington state. It’s almost two different states.
I got free water at my apartment 😊 so I just got a small washer and I'm using cold water 😁 was paying 2.25 for a small wash load... 3 loads each week and the dryers are about 1.75 so not as bad but still I got a drying rack.
I've been here almost 3 years now! The dark and cloudy winters are so long and that is almost a deal breaker for me! I've never experienced SAD until I got here! A whole month without sunshine is rough! I don't have any friends! I'm a lone wolf but I miss my friends back east! I'm thinking of moving after my lease ends this summer!
Been in WA state almost 3 years now! Once you get past the passive aggressiveness then you'll fare well! I've tripled my income just by moving here! I've never had so much disposable income and I love it! The winters suck! The constant grey and lack of sun will get to you! This last winter almost had me packing my bags!
