Travels with Geordie is the ongoing story of the life and travels of Peter Knowles. The story begins in 2013 in Nova Scotia where we set out on a life of perpetual travel. First around North America in a vintage Airstream towed by an even more Vintage Land Rover. In time, I arrived In Victoria British Columbia and fell in love with a 1953 38' Monk motor cruiser and promptly moved aboard, beginning a long and thorough refit to enable me to cruise extensively. Come and join me as I enjoy a life afloat with a mix of sawdust, good food and drink, travel and music.
This was simply a 'best case scenario' something that rarely happens with old cars and only inexperienced mechanics would assume this was 'the only problem'
The shatter in the engine at certain rpm s can be changed. The ballancer wheel s waight either added waights or waight taken off.. Or change of ballancer.. Cheers
I don't understand why stainless steel screws or bolts weren't used throughout in the construction of these old wooden boats? Maybe s/s wasn't readily available back in those times? That being the case copper should have been the choice. Maybe these boats were constructed during tough times, like during the depression years, or maybe it was just done to maximise the builders profits.
Nice video nice cruise, nice people, nice 4 legged friends and of course nice boats and scenery. Fitting tribute to your love one to share a resting place with Geordie.🙌
Happy to announce we too went for a cruise of Desolation Sound during August 2024. Just missed seeing you according to the video log. I used your video Best of Desolation Sound and the Sunshine Coast as a primary guide this summer.
Lady Z looks amazing, It's great to see everyone enjoying the boat after all the hard work. Captain Lady Z you're doing a great job on handling skills.
I had a wonderful dog named Max, so I know first hand what it's like to loose a dear friend. I have Max's ashes and his ashes will go with me when I go. Cheer's peter!
So fun to see all that spectacular scenery once again. Having just gotten back from an 8 week cruise to Desolation Sound and the discovery islands myself, I’ll never tire of the view!
