For real! I'm struggling trying to find affordable braiders for me and my daughters and we all have thick hair! I have tried learning how to braid using extensions, however I've failed at it. My girls are adults and I've always cornrowed or box braided their hair myself until they got older and the styles changed (yes I'm older than most on here)😅! It's sad that I nor they can do hair😢! Blessed are those that have the gift! Shame on the ones who charge $400-$500 for knotless boho braids (hair not included)! I love watching all the tutorials here on RU-vid and TikTok!
It’s funny that you posted this because my sister and I just got her hair done 2 days ago. We went to this African braiding shop in Philly (we’re from Jersey) and otp they gave us one price but when we came, they told us another. So, my sister and I go in and we tell them we’re there to get small/medium knotless. They told us $250. An hour later, a client with shorter hair comes in and asks for the same thing. They told her $200. 😐
I would love to try this (I may honestly use some synthetic curly hair I have to practice on my mannequin head.) I would hate to get the human hair and waste it. Also thank you for the pre-parting visual. I struggle so much when I get to the top of my head 😂
I’m now able to do knotess, this is helpful thank you so much, I have watched so many RU-vidrs, it’s hard to learn because of their methods, thank you may God bless you.
Braider should charge less for thin/fine hair and don’t raise the price for thick/course hair. 90% of melanated people hair thick hair. So they deal with it all the time. I can see raising the price for long hair but not thick. You can put the same amount of braids on thick hair as you can thin hair.
Dont be a braider if you dont have experience with thicker hair types. Because i promise you if you know how to get down then braiding thin and thic hair will have only lil or small differences in time taking. Bcs i promise you will not charge less if a person with thin and short haid came and asked for these same braids.
Exactly. Thats just unprofessional, if their hair is combed and ready then there is no reason to pay more when all you have to do is part and braid it should only take a little bit longer than thin hair. Ppl are acting like its a jungle or its gone take 2-6 more hours than thin hair. This is why a lot go by hairstyle not hair.
They charge extra because they can. Y'all going to pay. That is the same boat I am in. I don't know how to braid, so I am going to the salon. Once a year I go to get a trim. If i had the skill, I'd do my own hair.😢😢😢
Do u then give discount for thin hair. Adding charge for thick hair is quite shitty, black hair when taken care of will be thick, why should i pay more cos i take care of my hair
You don't pay for time you pay by the hairstyle. That's how it always goes. And yall acting like thick hair is a jungle. All you gotta do is part and braid and it may need more gel but I promise you it does not more than 1- 30 mins more than thin hair. Thic hair is not a obstacle course I promise if it's been combed out right then it will not take as much time.. You're doing the exact same parts on thin hair.
you’re being silly. Thick hair does not take more time if you’re doing the same partings as you would on a person with thinner hair. How does that even make sense
That’s so true. My hair is long and thick. I wear it in a bun on top of my head. When I go to the hairdresser, before I even sit down, she looks at head and tell me you have a lot of hair you have to pay more. I ha learned to do it myself now. Greetings from USA.
@@cb2253that’s extremely unprofessional and stupid not everyone is bald headed and they shouldn’t be punished for it. MAYBE if the hair is super long but thickness? Absolutely not. I’d never dream of charging someone more just bc they have thick hair.
Early 2000 we used human hair for micros braids only. I think I'm sensitive to synthetic hair, I had crochet in for one full day my scalp was itchy and I had headache. I took them down and the relief 😮💨 was instant. Im doing all human for my next braid style.
