By day I'm a professional mechanic (technician for the snobby). I stream my daily antics repairs, diagnosis, breaking a bolt and spending the next 4 hours drilling it out and general automotive knowledge bombs for you here on youtube daily! If I'm at work, I'm streaming! (sometimes you get weekends too on personal projects).
By night I'm a father of 3 and avid gamer (with them), so if you want to play games with me, it may include some "oohhh me too!" not far behind.
I welcome you to come and just enjoy life as we fix crap, find new alternatives to swearing, what it is being a father of 3 boys and a man getting up there in age. I love meeting new people so don't be shy and say hello!
Thank you so much sir!! I don’t work on cars much and I was quoted $1650 for this. I ended up spending $215 and spent an hour doing it. I didn’t need to remove the steering wheel. I used one of those thread makers for stripped screws for the 2 bolts and it worked like a champ.
That's a unicorn wheel bearing the way it came out. Must have used fairy dust first to loosen it. Nice video. I might have relubed the brake parts on reassembly while you had it apart.
A trick to removing the two shear bolts is glueing a longer bolt, with a nut on the end, to the top of each bolt with some JB Weld. Left it overnight and the next day I could easily unscrew them with a wrench.
I'm not entirely sure what it does cause I never had an issue with it, but yes some cars DO NOT come with that piece, if yours doesn't have one, don't worry about it, it wasn't supposed to come with one.
I have an Tiguan with pano sunroof. I know I’m leaking in the back (driver side) along the drink window and down into the trunk. Is there a hole from the top to get into? With the pan sunroof open you came access it unless you go under, and when I go under I get nothing out really
Grandparents still drive a Volvo V70 from 2007 still run smoothly to date only required a gearbox swap at 120,000 miles otherwise the engine runs smoother than most Vauxhalls and Minis probably because of it being a straight 4 cylinder
Maintenance is key. My 08 Nissan Versa hatch 1.8 with the non CVT transmission has 210k on it. All the nissan altinas are run into the dort because those who own them to maintain them.
I couldn't get the key to move at all, so I cut the cylinder in half and pulled it apart. Then the key would turn -and I found a tiny little pull spring that was chewed up inside the cylinder -that was the problem. A 10¢ part cost me $200 😂 Don't be afraid to cut it in half.... Oh and for the pin to unlock it -i used side cutters to snip off a piece of wire from a dollar store wisk. It fit perfectly.
Hello deamonmachine, i did the installation and the computer says no key .I installed the old key that the car was already working before , it starts the car for 2-3 seconds and shuts off after and says no key. And i cant close my windows, they are open. Is there something you can suggest me to do?it would be very helpful
I've had bad luck with local mechanics. They won't provide itemized receipts, they use low quality parts. At the dealership at least I get itemized receipts and geniune parts. And often the dealership is less.
@@deamonmachine easy the owners of auto shops should go into a dealership as a customer and get an oil change. Then mimic the experience and beat the price at their own business.
unknown, sounds like you need to push the pedal down further, try pumping the clutch pedal and see if it makes a difference in how you can shift.. the hydraulics must hold pressure in order to shift well, if it's leaking down you can find that out by holding the clutch in, shifting into first and if it slowly starts to pull, then the clutch hydraulics are leaking somewhere.
What does the sensor for the key do . Have same problem on 2012 Passat thinking maybe you could push that button up inside the ignition sleeve thing instead of buying a new one and lube it ?
Hi I been watching your videos on the 2.5 engine and I have a really bad oil leak that only seem to show it’s self when the car is started it drains all of the oil out of the car I been searching everywhere for answers and seem to find nothing
Vag water pumps are pathetic, barely 60,000k on many the 2l EA888 probably the most common engine in the vw audio group of cars. I'm a vag fanboy and own a 2020 golf r, I've already planned an aftermarket replacement when mine is done.
