Grummz is probably trying to pivot into the role of a ‘professional’ commentator for an audience of boys and young men that have no discernible skills outside of playing games. He’s almost definitely given up on releasing any game in the future. But you know, if some idiot investor threw money at him, he’ll probably dance for it.
There's no such thing as "getting off twitter" for those infected by the anti-woke mind virus. It will consume their lives until the end of their days. His brain is mush. Mushbrains are not capable of making games.
Grummz has absolutely no reason to prove people wrong and finish this project because he has amassed a following through being provocative on social media. His fans do not care about objective lies or too much tweeting. They like the culture war and they'll happily commune to fund and support him through it all. I'd say I feel bad for the people who spent money on this thing but quite honestly, sometimes you need to be a better judge of character. Again, really hard to feel bad about people being scammed when all said person had to do to get you on their side was say the problem with the gaming industry was minorities and representation.
The problem is, why spend money and time releasing non functional images, when all the people investing their money is for the making of the game. Ember or em8er is a lost cause. The dude can't handle money. And if you cant see it than keep loosing money from a scammer that makes it look like not a scam.
It's not a scam here since it's very clearly stating what you're getting and the risk involved, but I wouldn't say the same for other games that imply that they're going to release due to the funding from something like kickstarter You could criticize whether or not mark is even worth your money, but I don't really know much about the project
I think you misunderstand the upset part of the community. Yes, we all know what a scam is and how it works, we all know its a gamble putting our money into it. If the project fails, that's OK, if it fails for an expected reason like, they didnt get enough money. The reason why people say its a scam is because, with all the money he already made, the project should've progressed a lot faster. But we dont see progression happening at the same rate as the donations, which makes people wonder where the money goes. And if the money goes to anywhere but into the game, it is a scam because the money you sent to Mark Kern didnt go towards the game as you thought. If the money they've collected didnt go towards the development, it is effectively 100% a scam. Personally, I would love to see the complete statistics of all the transactions that went through between all the donatons, ways of donations including both subscriptions and sales of copies and Crixa Labs along with all of its spendings.
@@Archielolol He never said any of that back when I was around. Besides, even if he said that, it's one man's word against a written paper by a court of law, black on white where he lost a lawsuit few years back. It's a good thing that we have people using their brain every once in a while, otherwise everyone would jump whenever Kern asks for a jump off the cliff. I know Em8er is a complete echo-chamber of YesMen bending over until their backs snap, he even bought back Giga who Mark accused for threatening with guns and cost the project millions of dollars... Whatever lies is he spewing out about that? Giga and Mark were best friends all along? xD Give me a freakin' break here! Mark have been using his family as the escape-card for soon to be a decade to avoid making his game. If Mark actually spent some time and effort making the game, he could've paid off whatever alleged "child support" without upsetting the whole community and damaging his reputation. He knows that, he has walked the steps of fame and glory before. If he actually said he's literally using all those money to pay off a personal debt then he should be legally sued for fraud. And if you puzzle it all together you'll see that he just played the family-card on yall again, it's just a lie to farm more money out of sympathy, the usual mumbojumbo. They even made a new channel in their discord to remind him to talk and engage with his fans once a day, after he'd been in complete silence for months without any updates to the game... His excuse: being an introvert. Meanwhile, he's fully active on his X-account engaging publicly about gamergate. Guess he just forgets his own game from time to time. That's how important yall are to him, you're just a cow for milking, and you keep feeding him with passive income. For perspective, AoC started their funding and development around the same time as Mark began his work on Em8er, but look at where AoC is now in comparison. it's been almost a decade now, and I'd even bet my left nut that StarCitizen is gonna release before Em8er ever goes to Kickstarter!
Thank you so much for this video! Actually gives me hope that there are some decent people out there. :) Grummz took a wrong turn somewhere, somewhen. Its a shame, but I guess we will have to keep Firefall in our hearts and let it go.
He's not a game developer. He only got the lead developer title because the guy above him at Blizzard had to resign due to health issues. He's a businessman and I use that term very, very loosely.
I was an Em8er monthly subscriber since they started the monthly pledge until the beginning of this year. I don't believe the game will ever see the light of day. If it does, It'll be a forgettable flash in the pan. There is nothing that I've seen that believes we will ever get anything of depth or substance.
You got your aircraft info wrong Lockheed Martin and skunkworks are the same thing skunk works is a division of Lockheed and the creator of the yf-23 was Northrop Grumman btw
its just art, we're just commisioning art at this point, with a demo thing that they add stuff to whenever their backers get frustrated by the lack of progress
It's not possible to get the FireFall game/engine etc and just re-lunch it under a publisher that cares? i mean the game files are still there...they just need updates and devs to menage it? Why make something new...when you already have a great game like firefall?? can't they revive the original Firefall?
afaik The9 (Chinese company that also holds the rights for WoW in China) still owns the engine and everything else needed to "revive" it. There is an effort to reverse engineer Firefall and it is possible to boot up and run around the empty world at this time. Check out the Melding Wars, that's probably our best chance at getting anything close to Firefall ever again, and it's a slim one.
Skunkworks developed the f22, more specifically lockheed martin, boeing, and general dynamics Not the 23. Skunkworks is also a group within lockheed, not its own company. The 23 was developed by Northrope Grumman and Mcdonnell Douglas. A fine example of DEI on youtube yet you are upset at the complaints about it.
Looks like you actually understand the game, as well as the situation we find ourselves in. I played firefall from the early days, right up until the end. If The Nine hadn't tried to turn it into WoW with guns,it might not have failed. But thats all water under the bridge. Grummz is fighting the Good Fight™ I've supported his project from the start. If we actually get a great game out of this,I'll be very happy. I went in knowing it might not work. He has been very upfront about that. This latest nonsense with the Wokistas their D.I.E and GamerGate2 is simply a symptom of the times we live in. As for X (formerly Twitter) I've never seen the point, but to each their own. But since Musk bought it, it has caused many of the Eternally Offended to go into total melt down, so thats at least one benefit. :)
sorry man- the YF-22 was developed by Skunk Works a division of Lockheed Martin's - the YF23 was CREATED by NORTHROP ! :) apologize now for wrong airplane facts!
What a load of shit your commentary is. If you me or anyone else donates money for a specific reason, in this case the development of a game and that money ISN'T used on the game and used elsewhere, then yeah I'd consider that a scam. You're just a blind and ignorant.
