Welcome to Super Rider! My name is Aaron, and on this channel we break down complex bike skills into easy-to-learn techniques, so you can quickly learn and apply these skills to your riding.
I film most of the videos in the Shred Spot, a mountain bike skills laboratory where we build and ride on obstacles. It's the best place to break things down and go deep on all of the nuances of bike riding. You'll see me ride full suspension mountain bikes, hardtails, dirt jumpers, street trials, competition trials and anything else I can get my hands on!
I was riding trails 20 years ago with silent hubs because they provided instant engagement; great for ratcheting the pedals to get over logs and other obstacles.
I have ridden Hex 26” and Fourplay 24”. The 24” is a better bike IMO. It rides much better in parks and has more of that BMX style, while being a trials bike. The 26” is too long and doesn’t manual and ride park as well.
I haven't been able to get this but i just realized im not holding the brakes right up until just before the kick. Ill have to try that on my ride tonight!
I can wheelie really well, manual at least a couple bike lengths and bunny hop about a foot reliably. But i still cant pedal kick to get up on the back wheel. I keep practicing it but its not clicking. Im riding a trek mtb 29er hardtail with a manitou 120mm fork. Anyways im sure ill get it eventually but the power just isnt there yet. Im wondering if i need to be on a higher gear. I also changed my chainring and cassette awhile back and downsized the chainring but recently went back up now that im in better shape but its still only a 32t so im thinking of picking up a 34t soon and hopefully that will put one of my mid gears in the sweet spot.
Well.... I have the weirdest skill of all..... I change my gears while im wheeling if my gears are too low... I cannot go tge other way around tho sadly
hi. great tutorials. say, only got access to a bmx now. is it ok to start off here then move to trials bike later? are some of the skills transferrable? thanks.
