I have ordered my kit from aliexpress🤞. The supplier only has the paper instructions unfortunately, could you or someone else send me the pdf copy please? Thanks
Question - are the plastic bags in the same format as the authentic Lego ones? Ie jf if I were to buy the box, could I put the bags inside it as it is supposed to go?
I also have the Ali express version of this set. Bought the original Eiffel Tower this year which was really expensive so couldn’t afford a second expensive set. The Ali version is beautiful. People that aren’t into Lego wouldn’t see the difference although people that build with it can see it in a second. Flags are different and the Ali bricks have small dimples in it where real Lego bricks have the word “Lego” on it. Really like this set with all its small details. You can look at it for hours. Perhaps adding a light kit would make it even more awesome
Be aware that spring alloys have changed over the years. Do not be surprised if your new spring has a different level of "springiness" than you expect. Also, decent leather work gloves aren't expensive. No excuse for not having them "on hand" (so to speak)! A clear face shield is also advisable. To set the cap, let me suggest you get a roundish piece of wood and drill a 1-2cm hold in it deep enough to fit over the arbor. That way you can apply pressure evenly the whole way 'round! 😀
You are absolutley correct about the saftely aspect of removing a spring. There is a lot of power in that coiled up little unit. I do know someone who had to be rushed to hospital for stitches when the spring sprung out at him. Great tip about setting the cap. I'll be using that idea
@@treetopspider Yeah. it isn't about the mainspring slipping off the winder. It's the fact that you never know if there is damage or a defect in a main spring that will cause it to suddenly break, sending sharp spring ends and fragments moving VERY quickly in the direction of your face!
Does anyone know if The instructions and the actual build follow what the original Lego would? I would assume that it does since it has exactly the same amount of pieces but they may have made it have the same amount of pieces just so that people would compare it to the actual Lego set. I had wanted this set for years and went to look and see if I could find a deal on one on eBay and came across this and the set that I found even has light switches awesome. If the build matches the Lego build then I am definitely spending $210 tonight.
Ive never built a real Lego kit but knowing Ali Express, Ive got no doubt that they have copied it to be exactly the same minus any trademard logos. As mentioned in the video, this was an absolute joy to build. The pieces snapped together with a satisfying click. You wont regret the purchase. Try to find one with a PDF, it makes life so much easier
Good question. I made about 10 rugs, some really beautiful ones too. I tried selling them on Etsy but had no joy. In the end, the setup was taking up too much room in my workshop and couldnt do anything else so I sold everything as a single lot and lost a load of money too. Shame is, sometimes I miss that hobby
I've just bought a slate clock for restoration and your videos have given me all the information I need to get the job done. These old French clocks are absolutely lovely and deserve a bit of tlc so that they can be properly appreciated. Great work - thank you!
I honestly cant understand why these French clocks arent making big money. You could literally buy a stunning clock for less than £50. I havent restored on for ages now, Ive got a couple that need work, perhaps I'll get around to completing them
I want to order one too really bad and I saw your video and want to ask where to find that construction guide, like the book so if you could help me would be grete, great video i watched at it while smiling, thank you!!
This kit was a gift to me from my brother. The pdf was emailed to me from the seller. I have been told that this can also be found on the Lego website too
@@treetopspider I saw a lot of options on aliexpress from like 200 to 100 quid and I am really confused because I do not know witch one to buy because none of them talked about the construction guide
Your Video was 28 minutes of my lifetime very well spent! Thank you so very much! I just opened the ugly big brown delivery-box and am in a state of sheer oberwhelming. But obviously it can be done. Again: thanks a lot and greetings from, apalled to say it, shithole Germany.👋👍
I just checked with Ali express and the original advert is no longer there. However I did find a similar one s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DBlk8cf Hope this helps
Hi, I couldn't find the original advert because my brother bought this one for me, but I found a link to one that's similar s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Dnqxcf9 Hope this helps
Hi, I just bought this for my son and it came with no pdf download link. Where did you get your pdf download from? I can’t find anywhere online and seller is slow to reply
Hi and thank you. I bought mine ages ago from a company called Meadows and Passmore. www.m-p.co.uk/ But I just had a look on their website and couldn't find it. It may be worth giving them a call to see if they still stock it. I have tried another product called Slate Blacking, but I didn't like the finish. It went on more like a paint than a dye, which absorbs into the slate, if that makes sense. The finish wasn't as smooth
It may just be your skill in assembling Lego, but judging from the video of the final result, I expect I'd be able to tell which was real and which was fake within five seconds of entering the room. ;)
Fantastic video! Subbed Just got into lego myself at the age of 46. I am hooked! currently building the huge AliExpress knock off of the ucs Millennium Falcon. It’s amazing! And a bargain to boot! Look forward to seeing g more of your content. Happy days, cheers mate.
I ordered mine whilst tipsy one night!! Then searched for a review on the tube, came across this video and it truly lowered my anxiety. Anyway finished the build (43 hours in total) and it’s very impressive, love it, thanks for the video. 👍🏻
That late night browsing followed by the impulsive purchase is something I seem to fall victim too quite often. Well done on the build, I wish I had documented how many hours mine took me.
Hi, my brother bought this kit for me after building one for himself. He did say that although they were both bought from different companies on AliExpress, the quality was exactly the same. I can't comment on a comparison with a genuine Lego kit, but I can say the quality is amazing
I was told to avoid getting these cases wet as they are held with plaster and if they get too wet they can fall apart. Better to wipe them to avoid excess water.
Thats absolutely true, they are held together with plaster but it would take quite a soaking to break it down. You will see in some of my other videos that I do actually take the cases apart for a full restoration and then glue them back together.
Greetings from the Netherlands! Just stumbled upon your video and found it very entertaining and educational. Do I detect a London accent there ? My dad’s from Islington. Anyway, I’m 55 and hope to spend less time on work and more time on woodworking and watchmaking if I can. Fingers crossed. All the best and hope to see more of your work.
Hi, Yes a London accent, or more specifically an Essex accent. Islington is about 15 miles from where I live. The most liberating day in my life was the day I stopped working at the age of 58. work has been a necessary evil which I am glad to be rid of. You'll see in my videos I spend my time exploring lots of different hobbies. Everyday is a playday for me 😁
I inherited a Kundo electric 400 day clock from my late mother. She bought it in de early seventies. The clock has been idle for over 50 years. I took it apart and cleaned all the wheels, the pivots and both plates in the ultrasonic cleaner and put it back together. I did not oil the clock because I am not sure if that is necessary and I do not have the right oil for it anyway. Anyhow, now the clock runs for about two days, then it suddenly stops running for no obvious reason. This clock has a small electric motor that winds a tiny mainspring at regular intervals. The mainspring barrel is made of some type of plastic, like nylon. I suspect the main spring may have lost its power over the decades. I have been searching for a new main spring assembly, but I can't find one.
My first thought is that it will need a light oiling. otherwise you'll have metal to metal rubbing together. I'd do that before changing the spring. If you do need a spring, go to cousinsuk.com there you will find everything you need. Good luck
Hi just found your channel loved titanic vid tempted to buy one, I recently bought a second delorean lego version £35 instead of £170 modded the car just as good as original lego version
8:31 that is actually incorrect, there is a difference between the different colors. The beige colored connectors have less friction than the blue. Same with the black connectors vs the light grey, the light grey has less friction. I ordered the Porsche and Bugatti years ago and the quality was alright, I purchased the Lamborghini and the Ferrari recently and am now awaiting delivery. The Ferrari is scheduled for delivery on Monday(it is in the hands of my local delivery service) I also ordered the Porsche RSR and plan to purchase a couple of F1 cars in the future. I want to hang all of my cars on the wall at some point after I move so I'm getting plenty of cars to fill up the wall all at once😂
I didn't know about the friction difference. It makes sense now you've mentioned it. That's good to know for the future. Although, I do always try to stick to the instructions where I can. Youve obviously got a really big collection of these kits. Its so exciting knowing that the kit is now in your country and with your local delivery company and just waiting for that knock on your door 😀I'm limited by space, although I really fancied the Porcshe. Unfortunately, my finished kits have been banished to my attic for now 😒
Nice to see you sharing/making content. Now, if you're out and about in the wilderness, maybe you'll film a CRYPTID or what-not. Then you'll be more famous.
