I left in 59 felt like a village area nice stores 3 movie theaters was home in 70 /72 still much the same now a different world even my church and graveyard erased church a meeting place graves covered over into a parking lot no respect for the past an outdoor market and vegetables stores and foreign language is this happening all over Britain
4.39 - Kenworthy's Chambers at Arlington House ..... A 'Chambers' is usually a building where barristers, solicitors, lawyers have their offices, it's not a Chamber of Commerce
Not as lively as when I lived there in the 1950/60's. Too bad the narrator doesn't do a bit of research first so he can comment on Underbank , the town hall and Stockport Infirmary on the A6. Not to mention the site of the old Tabernacle club where we kids saw all the great music acts b4 they got really famous. Remember seeing Cat Stevens, Small Faces, Amen Corner and numerous others. MerseyWay looks a bit desperate with lots of closed stores. Stockport market used to be packed. St Mary's church has an interesting history.
Thanks for the information. As stated in my other videos, I don't tend to do research on the area. That isn't what this channel is focused on. I play it by year, and gain knowledge from my viewers, subscribers, and people I come across while doing my videos.
Got nothing but pity for them. They’re reduced to that so some scummy gangster can get his women plastic surgery and send his daughter to a private school.
Thank you so much for sharing!! I relived my early childhood years in the Heaton Park area. My secondary school years in the Polefield and Simister areas. ❤
Born and raised in Moston for 50 years...heartbreaking that once a disirable area to live, now turned into a 3rd world ghetto. Most of the shops are actually fronts for ilicit dealings i.e people trafficing, drugs and prostitution.
Ah, Salford Where you're a puff if you don't like football You're a puff if you want an education Where you're 'ard' if you carry a knife and are prepared to use it. Where you're a ;grass' if you want to live in a place without crime. Where you're that insecure that anyone looking at you for longer than 2 seconds is 'starting' and 'asking for it' Where you don't grow up not knowing someone who has gone to prison. It's not the place that's a shithole. It's the people
I miss the place I grew up in Radcliffe 71-91 I moved away during the recession to a village in south Gloucestershire called pucklechurch , best move I ever made 😉, I do still visit from time to time I still have family that lives in Radcliffe
Working class young families are starting to find its hard to get affordable housing, lots of shiny tower blocks with rents around 1100 per month in media city
I've passed through Manchester many times, its just bleak. Im from London I'm now living in Swansea, Manchester use to be cool, not so much now yea.. Southampton is nice. These skells need to move to a more congested place if they wanna make some serious quid.
Surprised you didn’t catch any of those street ninjas, usually riding on the back wheel of unregistered surron ebikes…as they ride past, whilst maintaining firm eye contact with you, as they swerve in and out of traffic and as they ride further away into the distance, the ninja frequently looks back to make you aware that, he is a ninja. No place like home ey. 😚🤣 Great vid mate, I recommend you try buzz rock cafe in hulme the gravy is some naughty stuff
