Started riding again after 25 years in December 2017! My bike back then in India was a 100cc two Stoke Kawasaki Bajaj. Just got 2017 BMW R1200GS Adventure, quite a difference, I must say 😁 Enjoying my triple black GSA and sharing my experience with you all! Planning on motovlogging at least once every week and also reviewing the gear I use. Hang loose and ride safe! with the same height, people have different distances from the ground to the groin (inner seam length). Therefore, it is correct and better to talk about this - for understanding. There is also information about the saddle height in your case. The standard seat for the lowered version has a height 860/840mm. The heated seat for the lowered version has a height 870/850mm. Lowered seat 840/820mm.
Damn bill. I knew you'd come in clutch. Just bought my first bike a Suzuki Vstrom and as a friend of my dad's I thought I should look you up on YT. Thanks for the tutorial!
hey thanks for the video, im 5'9" and im going for the 1250 GSA, the normal height feels too tall for me i can barely touch the floor tried the low suspension and its great
I got one last year in March, mine has just over 6000 miles on it now. I sold my car so this is my only form of transportation I am so happy with this motorcycle. The genius of this motorcycle is its simplicity the manufacturer bmw doesn't really want you to work on your own motorcycle and this motorcycle lets you do that when the more expensive bmw gs's are way too complicated to work on. I drove it this all last year and through out this winter in Pennsylvania and with the right tires it worked out great. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Just wondering 6 years on if you would still recommend this tail bag? I hate the look of hard top boxes but need something relatively cheap. I will be commuting so need easy access to everything. Would this set up be a good idea? I'd need to take the tail bag off every time I got off the bike though....... would it take long to strap on every ride?
Just wondering 3 years on if you would still recommend these panniers and also tail bag? I hate the look of hard panniers and hard top boxes but need something relativly cheap. I will be commuting so need easy access to everything. Would this set up be a good idea? I'd need to take the tail bag off every time I got off the bike though....... would it take long to strap on every ride?
I am going with the Adventure rear next time. Was somewhat disappointed with the Rallz rear. Not very smooth on road and tire life was poor. The Dual Venture front is very good.
That is so funny. No water running in my doors or floors, reverse park and you will see how good the rear doors are, so many vehicles have no fold flat seats so big deal, in Australia they are all standard with tow bar and wiring, i am guessing you just can't afford it or don't need it.
I saw my first Grenadier today. It was parked on the street it and looked better in person than it does in photos. My dealer called me recently and said my vehicle is scheduled to go into production in March. I ordered a base version with a couple of options. I have deposits on a 2024 Cybertruck, 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro and a 2024 Ineos Grenadier. I have a tough decision ahead of me as I can only choose one.
real story here is that the cup holders can fit a large thermos! that was something i was worried about. good to see that! fit some car seats or something to let us know how the back seat room and comfort is please!
@@CJ-rk5eg ;-) My limited driving skills will not miss all types of lockers. Center will do. The one thing Grenadier missed is 2W/4W drive option like jeep.
congrats on the purchase! also--respect for keeping that Range Rover on the road. it was the modern version when I was growing up, but I hardly see them around anymore
Hi folks I think you guys miss understand,I never said 4runner is luxurious,I said gx it is version comes under Lexus, still I believe pricing for ineos pricing is super high 70 k think about it,if ineos placed around 55k starting it is meaning full.we have options less than that price,4runner is a tank gx460 is there.this is my opinion I mean personal
Congratulations! I’ve been following the Ineos Grenadier since they first were just talking about it. I even have a reservation in for mine, it’s supposed to come in some time in April next year. However, I went to the dealer to check out their production units, they are supposedly not demo units. So, the grenadier was supposed to be sort of a vehicle that was less reliant on electrical stuffs. Well I was surprised to learn, although it has hydraulic power recirculating ball steering, that the hydraulic pump does not run off the engine, it’s an electric pump, and not “Bosch” or some other name brand, it just says “made in China” and “Ineos” on it. How reliable is that going to be? I also noticed it has electronic adjustment to the headlamps and that’s not an option, you can’t spec it without it. I also noticed it has electric radiator fans, how reliable is that? I also noticed that there are no little tabs or mechanical switches inside to lock the doors if the battery goes flat and the battery is under the rear seat. How to you re-lock your rear doors when you have a flat battery and you’ve removed the battery to take it to the shop to get a new battery do you just have to leave the rear doors unlocked? It’ll be interesting as people get them in their hands what they think of them more long term. I understand things like the Lexus GX is a different vehicle BUT it’s also kind strange when you think that the grenadier gets 15 MPG but has more gear, smaller displacement engine, less HP but gets worse gas mileage than the GX. You’d figure that the grenadier would be able to squeeze out more MPGs. So although I have one slated to come in April, I’m still on the fence, I’m going to subscribe to you for updates, please keep us up to date.
Good points! I have the manual in the house to go through. Probably I will find some answers in it. But again, the only way you can justify this vehicle is that it has just brought back the old defender charm in a new vehicle. Once you start comparing this with GX, Land cruiser or even the new defender, you have lost the point and this vehicle is not for you. Just my two cents.
The design philosophy for the design was to source the major components from the best manufacturers, axles, transmission, transfer box, engine, etc. they did that. Millions of products are made in China - look around your house. Not forgetting the famous 'Designed in California', 'Made in China' iphones. This vehicle is NOT an SUV, or pretend off roader. It's a genuine off-roader, with the ability to ride on sealed surfaces. It certainly won't suit everyone and is unlikely to be an only car of the owners.
You are right on the money. I thought really hard about it. But considering that they are lining up against the inline 6 defender, and putting quality parts, it is worth it if you are going to keep it forever. This is a solid vehicle like what they used to build 50 years ago and will last forever. That is the impression I get..
I agree somewhat, I mean, congratulations on this guys purchase BUT the power steering pump is electric, its an electric motor behind the passenger headlight. The motor says “made in China” and “Ineos” cars 50 years ago weren’t made with electric power steering pumps. The ineos has electronically adjustable headlights, why? It has no internal door locks, meaning if the battery goes flat you can’t lock the rear doors and guess what? The battery is under the rear seat, meaning when you have to go get a new battery, your rear doors will have to stay unlocked. This thing relies too heavily on electronics, this is NOT what Ineos promised us they were going to deliver. As for luxury, I don’t think the Ineos is supposed to be luxury but the 4Runner isn’t luxury but at least it has power seats. I dunno, I just think Ineos missed the mark with what they were going to deliver.
@@alexsystems2001 I agree, but in this modern age, there is only so much you can do. For example, US regulations didn't allow the car in without leave departure warning and collision control nannies 😁They had to add that free of charge
@@jorgeantunesclaro4450 If factory lowered, I guess it is already adjusted. I wouldn't recommend just changing springs. Along with recalibration, the side stand length also needs to be changed. Not sure what else
I m 6’03 and i realy hate the hight on my 2011 gsa. Had a several adv bikes in a past but the hight of this one realy bothers me. Put on low seat i can easily put feet on the grond eaven with regular seat but steel i hate that high centar of gravity on such a heavy bike. Also the position of the steering wheel.
I rode on pure slicks in pouring rain on a liter bike many many twisties and never really had any issues. People talking BS like I will crash etc. You just adjust to the tyre. Surprisingly when warmed it gripped quite well even if the water had nowhere to go. Motorcycle tyre in principle is pushing water out. So if people are hamfistd with their throttle or are used to rain tyres like pilot roads then most likely yeah. But I wouldn't put too much focus on these negative talks. Most people can't really ride street or trusting tyres too much, thinking they will do all the work for them. Also using incorrect pressure is a big factor. I had tyres that just by airing it up/down 0,2 bar there was a huge difference between sliding all the time and gripping like on rails. Anyway I will try it this summer on rear so will report then!
Lowering suspension defeats the purpose of GSA. Why not go with the standard GS ( which I currently own). I’m 5’10 and if I want to increase further the ground clarance , I just pop up the ESA to max setting. But normall road riding, I set the sit height front adjustment to Low and set the ESA to Minimum.
How about the other way, I pop the suspension to max only when the terrain requires that much ground clearance. I have had no issues with bottoming suspension or ground clearance. Agreed, I am not a super aggressive rider 😄
Hi, thanks for the video. It was just what I was looking for. Have you ever ridden it with a passenger on board and luggage? If yes does the low suspension make the bike bottom out on speed bumps etc? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work
I have ridden with passenger, and with luggage, but not both. Never had it bottom out on pavement. The dynamic Esa works very well and is sophisticated enough to handle it. Hope that helps!
Why are people obsessed with height, you can be 7ft tall but if your inseam is less than 28in you'll struggle. Height is irrelevant, inseam is the distance from seat to floor. I have 28in inseam, lowered GSA with low seat and cams on seat to lower even further, I ride on Auto suspension but if I set it to min I'm flat footed.
@@motovloggingwithvman2188 yep, extra short legs here, your 5ft8in with a 30in inseam, I'm 5ft8in with a 28in inseam , its amazing how little difference can make all the differnce.
Cool stuff! One thing: haven't you installed those Barkbusters aluminium frames upside down? As in, you should flip them, as currently you have the right hand side frame on the clutch side.
A beautiful bike VMan! I am completely torn. Buying my first bike in May 2023, and I can't decide between the Kawasaki KLX 300 SM, the Kawasaki Versys 300X, or the BMW G310GS. The more I research the BMW the more I am leaning towards it as my choice.
