Just sharing a few videos of my travels. I made it a habit to walk to airports whenever feasible and I quite like flying to remote places.

And the most important thing: Enjoy your travels ;).
Traveling around Kiribati is not easy...

That half hr walk with your luggage in the tropical humidity would cost you only $3 FJ in a Taxi = $1:50 US

Fiji Airways I hold dearly.Pre board if no one is doing it, probably the crew can make a quick sweep with a dust pan & a rag.Just a suggestion for better reviews & improvements for the #QueenOfTheSkies of the South Pacific.Awesome service crew...much❤🙏

Cleaning is done by the Kiribati ground service handlers, who are not Fiji Airways but contraced for the service. Hope they change.

Fiji airways needs to seriously clean their planes with these small routes. Cleaners should board after each flight and do their stuff before allowing passengers in. No harm in waiting for an extra hour. Little things like these can deter tourist.Vinaka.

Yea man never trust them with transportation cos they're really bad with time management like for reals no kidding. They're very layback and lazy so if you want something done quick... yeah...that something they don't know how to do so yeah. It the island afterall so their mood is always on vacation 😂 Ohh one more thing when they say *Yes that means *Maybe 😂

Oh cool, Kiribati! The South Pacific is so obscure and cool. FYI, the English term you were looking for at the end to describe the population of Tarawa is "population density". So it's not as large population-wise as London or NYC, but it's just as crowded lol.

Have been watching since 800 subscribers. Whilst every video I've seen you have been driven to the airport, the rarity of your content and delivering the reality of travelling to these ultra remote places makes up for it. Given your love of Google maps, do you take any photos to contribute to Google maps when you visit?
@walkingtoairports
@walkingtoairports Месяц назад
To be fair, walking to Majuro Airport would take a solid three hours in the heat with aggressive dogs along the way 😅. I put up pictures and reviews on Google Maps sometimes, not too often though.

Bring something to pass the time on the Schefferville train. It's a long ride... 😅 There's a big waterfall on the left side at 08:35 in my video of that train which is located around 51,0233587, -65,8495265, I think.

Lufthansa ruined my wedding proposal and has proceeded to care 0%. We were suppose to be on this plane this exact flight on the upper deck, but they overbook their flights to the point that dozens of people are kicked off. Doesn’t matter that you have business class seats and there is nothing you can do about boarding your confirmed flight. They don’t make it easy for you to get refunded either. They really are the worst airline I have ever dealt with and I have been flying between Europe and the US for almost 25 years at least twice per year. I can't believe people think this airline is good/has good customer service. What a disappointment!

@@walkingtoairports oh wow...I had no idea. I've done more flying in single-engine planes than commercial passenger aircraft, so forgive my ignorance. But while I am learning, can I ask; in what kind of emergency would the axe be useful?

For example in case there's a fire in areas hard to reach otherwise, sidewalls/panels etc.

As always an absolutely fantastic and interesting video! It's on the one side great to see these more or less unknown places on a flighttrip but on the other side very sad that these atolls may be gone forever in the foreseeable future! I flew the Dornier 228 once on a long gone route within Germany from Dortmund (DTM) to the now closed airport of Berlin-Tempelhof (THF), operated by an also long gone airline called LGW (Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter). What a great experience that was......!
@walkingtoairports
@walkingtoairports Месяц назад
Yea, these atolls are quite susceptible to rising sea levels... Mili Airport is 4 feet above sea level, by the way. Flying to Tempelhof must have been quite interesting! I missed out on that but at least got to walk on the runway.
