@@indrayudhs Most probably these weren't posted realtime but much later after editing. By now they must be somewhere else, I think Nepal. So they'll be reading the comments now. 🤣
@@atticussam4583 No the episode where they picked up these words are already released. The man they we're talking to was referring to the Tea as in "good Tea" or "Bhalo Tea" hence the misunderstanding
Hi @desichris, I am local of Kolkata and can guide you in your food tour. I too am a foodie like you. So can really help you to find the top spots to have the most wonderful food of Kolkata and different delicacies. Lots of love and respect❤
@@jerryjerry20Asking for 50 cents of juice is corruption? Bengalis on the streets are lovely people, you're just salty. If you were on the streets, you'd be begging for food from him as well.
He was a frigging jerk & a cheapster to have made money to drink juice from his own shop. Including the rest of the freeloaders. These people are such an embarrassment to India.
I did not know Kolkata street vendors are so greedy, the way he made 4th glass of juice without even asking, as an Indian it boils my blood to see such minor negative things.
i am from kolkata and every one of the vendors is some way or the other trying to benefit from him . him being a visitor we should treat him as a guest still none the less hes a complete gentleman
The saddest part is that it mostly happened in Kolkata. Both Max and Chris have been to other metro cities, where they were treated nicely by even the poorest of people (barring a few instances). But here in Kolkata in every video they got ripped off one way or the other. Says a lot about the current state of our city and culture.
What you had there was not really Ghoti Gorom, as one of the main ingredients in Ghoti Gorom is Hog Plums which gives it the stapled tangy flavor. Which was missing. Also generally, the main crunchy mixture is kept in a container with a hot pot on top to keep the mixture warm. Hence the name Ghoti (pot) and Gorom (Hot)
He clearly told the seller that he wanted “goti garam”. He asked “do you have” and he nodded. He should have said the truth.Chris would have supported him.
Hi Chris, you are a nice person! Just one correction, in Bengali "Bhaalo" means Good, not "Bhaalo tea". Bhaalo tea comes from your previous conversation where someone wanted to translate Good tea as Bhalo tea or Bhaalo Chai. So from now on only say "Bhaalo" to mean Good
What I don’t understand is that even though you know Hindi really well, why don’t you speak to people in Hindi? Especially knowing that the person you’re talking to doesn’t really understand English but you keep conversing in English. I wonder why?
9:13 What you ate with the puffed rice was nit Bhel-puri. It's called " JHAAL MOORI" translates to (spicy-puffed rice). Jhaal moori is native and traditional kind of a bhel of west bengal. Bhelpuri and Jhaal moori have huge difference in them. While bhelpuri is made with boiled potatoes tomatoes chutneys etc. Jhaal moori is made with Coconuts, cucumbers, tomatoes raw mustard oil and special powdered masala.
1:13 Just say "bhalo" which means "good"! The vlog where you came to know about "bhalo tea".. was about the tea which was good.. "bhalo tea" and just "bhalo" are two different meaningful expression! Just a minor thing but will make Kolkata vlogs nicer!
The juice seller was greedy asf ..like he even made his own cup without even Asking..and even charged you .. most irritating thing atleast for me 21:20
Bro.... I suggest you to visit through a local vlogger for better communication, financial and other safety , and best experience.... Almost every city in our nation have multiple, travel/food vloggers....
That shopkeeper making himself a 4th glass and charging Chris for it? You think he's doing that to locals? No, so he shouldn't be doing that to tourists.
Ghati Garam is a bengali term and in hindi it's called Mixture Chanachur. That's why the man primarily couldn't get what exactly you want. And actually he is not a vendor of Ghati Garam, but however he managed to prepare it. But he has taken Rs 10 more per unit as you are foreigner. Footpath vendors will take excess in most cases. They are habitually dishonest due to some causes.
01:17 In Bengali, good translates to just "BHALO" and not "BHALOTI" which you keep using for "delicious". I think you misunderstood "BHALO TEA" which simply means "GOOD TEA".
Chris In Bengali good is said as "Bhalo" and not "Bhaloty" The guy you learned it from was telling you about the Tea, So he said "Bhalo Tea" - "Tea is Good" But You interpret it as Bhalotea is Bengali word for Good. 😅😅😅
The problem in India is that your good deed won’t be appreciated with integrity. The juice seller forcibly adds 50rs for his juice makes me wonder if he really thinks he played smart.
Nice vlog Chris! Btw, that wasnt 'ghoti gorom'. For authentic ghoti gorom, you need to go to a local train station. You'll see them around the ticket counter premises 😄 Great video as always 😉
Ghotigorom is dry nit soggy ..they have to put in fine slices of raw mango . Its supposed to be warm . And bhalo means good . Bhalo tea means good tea . And lastly hot spicy is " jhal" in bengali .
Brother. I am big fan of yours. I watch all your videos. I am based out in Canada however basically from India (Delhi). I’ve heard you saying “Bhaalotea” a lot in most of your videos. These are 2 different words, Bhaalo means Good Tea means CHAI. Cheers!!
There is so much poverty all around Kolkata unlike other metro cities in India This is mainly because of illegal bangladeshi people living in Kolkata at the behest of Corrupt TMC Gov
Chris you are the bravest tourist I have seen eating on streets of dirtiest country India , watch your back and pocket in India the poor people are nice but there are more scammers in India than any where else on the planet .
Kolkata people is go bad and greedy juice Wale uncle ko thodi sharam ani chahiye kisi foreign ko lutte hue khud free m pi liye kam se kam usko free m kuch toh dena chaiye tha as a gift kuch shame on that greedy uncle's of Kolkata😠 boil my blood as indian 😡😡
Next time when you visit kolkata must try HIMSAGAR MANGO, this mango is the king of mangoes, which you can find only in Kolkata during summer, month of MAY
Unfortunately still You can see poverty in west bengal just because of their local government of Mamta Banerjee 😢 She literally destroyed west bengal 😭
I have seen all the RU-vidrs' Kolkata series so far. Perhaps there will be some RU-vidrs who have made a blog in less than a week because this city is different, despite being big, it is a peaceful city and even better are the people here. While I live in Lucknow, but Calcutta is somewhat different, because it is the only city in the country which has experienced every modern thing first, be it telephone or television, what to say about this city even newspapers. , , , , Thank you ! Friends
It’s hard for me to believe that you are not a follower of Christ. You are a kind and loving man. Accept Jesus as your personal savior so that you will have eternal life.
Chris sir , can you visit patna , bihar and taste variety of foods . I want to meet you because you are not a vloger only you are helpful man also , so please explore our city, thanks.
If you are in india then you should visit kelash temple and konark sun temple there is a lot architecture which will blow your mind ❤ and ibecause of that trip am sure you will get millions view mark my words ❤😊
Bro I see you are in Kolkata.... You can visit Murshidabad... It is just 200km from Kolkata. In Murshidabad you can visit Hazarduari Palace, Motijheel and many more things... You will be welcomed❤️
I am surprised no one has corrected you .. "bhalo" means good.. bhalo tea means good tea. If you're trying to ask if something is good or confirm if something is good you say "khub bhalo" same meaning as "mucho gusta"
