This was the Million-Dollar shot....literally AND figuratively. At the :20 mark and still needing three words, my thought was they would not make it. Especially when Dan and Laureen only had about 2 seconds to guess the final word. And as 1 second ticked off to tenths of a second, Dan said "Soothsayer" with one letter revealed and BAM! Millionaires. 9 couples would win the $1M in the 1 1/2 years this show was on the air, and this was the most heart-pounding and most dramatic by a mile.
Soothsayer was their lucky word, because Dan had that one in mind ahead of time! Sometimes when they guess an answer at the million dollar round, they just brainstorm. He brainstormed "Soothsayer," on that last one, which just luckily happened to be it that time! Of all nine winning couples, I believe Dan and Laureen here came the closest to not doing it!
She's got a Facebook? Maybe someone can interview her about what it's like having parents who won $1,000,000 12 years before Who Wants to Be a Millionaire even existed.
Brian, it says on Michael Tiller's list of past traders that you were the one to help with the majority of his trades. Now even if YOU don't have his copy of Donald/Kathi vs. Phillip/Barbara, do you know anyone else who does? I'm trying to learn patience when it comes to waiting for a response to my comments, but I only recently created an account to post comments on RU-vid, just a little over a day after Michael's tragic death. And he still had a good many episodes of this show left in his collection that never went up. Several I was looking forward to because either A, they were on his first channel and/or his second one, or B, because they were episodes I'd never seen available before. (Those I'm maintaining faith will be uploaded somewhere else.) And once again, the copy is very watchable despite hefty tracking faults and has no commercials. And one more thing, I want to thank you for the episodes you've already shared!
Okay, I guess Brian is very busy right now, but ever since I established an account to post comments on RU-vid right after Michael Tiller's death, he has not responded to a single one of my comments, not a single one. Does anyone on this sight have any possible idea as to why that is?
IKR? She got robbed by the stinger. I still felt kinda bad knowing that happened, even though it was the other team most people were likely to be rooting for.
And on WAVE 3 in Louisville every weeknight at 7:30pm right after NBC Nightly News W/Tom Brokaw and preceding NBC’s Primetime Lineup (WAVE 3 also carried Saturday Morning shows over the years, notably cartoons like The Smurfs and Tree Fu Tom and 🤼♂️ shows like WWF Saturday Night's Main Event and CWA/USWA 🤼♂️, as well as the Allen Funt-hosted 70's version of Candid 🎥).
Noise and distraction. You see, they need to be able to focus on the screen, and any possible applause and cheering from the audience getting to their ears could take away their focus, thus hurting their chances of getting all 6 items in 60 seconds. This game can be pretty easy when you're viewing it from home, but if you're actually there and playing, it's a different matter. The one thing they can still hear, of course, is Jim Lange's voice.
