I love these older episodes. I was a kid in the 70's and our family had the yellow appliances. Apparently, yellow was really in style back then.

And light green. I had a Gibson (auto defrost) light green colour fridge and stove from 1969, lasted over 40 years! We used it later as a basement refrigerator. When it started leaking water inside of it and stopped cooling I found out from a repair person all it needed was a freon charge! Let's find a modern China one that will last this long!

Allison M… I also grew up in the ‘70s. I think there were only three colors of kitchen appliances. Red, yellow, (gold), and green. Maybe even olive green. We had the matching olive green appliances. Those were cool looking. A very vivid memory that I wouldn’t trade for anything. 😊😊

For me the real star of this show was Jay Stewart. Announced the openings, then would run down in the audience to describe a product that Monty Hall was hawking, then reappear in costume on stage in one of the zonkers, like milking a cow or riding a tricycle, then back to the audience with Monty Hall to describe another item or product, never ever making a mistake! And he was no spring chicken either. The early shows with him were the best!

The 70's versions pf Let's Make A Deal were the best! The 84-85 All New Let's Make A Deal had a smaller budget and would often repeat prizes too much. They would try to trick people when playing for cars or trips by having final items so difficult to price with a very small range. "Price this for me within $5.00." for a $125.00 item. You almost had to take the sure thing in the 84-86 version to avoid a big let down. The big cars and trips were rarely ever won on pricing games and the show had a feel like they wanted it that way. Especially in the 84-86 season. You had a better chance of winning a car or trip by going for the big deal, or on the "Dealer Wheel" than you would in a pricing game.

Monty Hall was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and was an excellent high school student who hoped to go to medical school. However, antisemitism was rife in those days and the University of Manitoba had a quota for Jewish students and Monty didn't get in. He ultimately went to Toronto and then to the US
