I gotta give props to UMA for going the extra extra mile when he gets that stun, sees Chris Wong already low, but actually backs off, stores and does a full combo just to be extra sure that he can maximize the shit out of this and kill 100%. My man played out of his mind all tournament long, what a legend.
He also does that because Feng Shui is about to run out and you don't want it to run out mid combo or your links won't work anymore (you use different routes while it's active).
I swear Uma plays as crazy as juri is as a person lol. For the man who won the tournament, there's times that look like he is freestyling (or doing what he wants), and it's a sight to be seen.
@@burkshomemadememeshe probably is. When you're in a flow state, you're no longer translating words to actions, you're just doing and feeling. Your brain is processing your knowledge subconsciously and working on instinct it's jacked right in to the think do centre! 😂
A 9-5 and 8hr of gaming is a total of 16hr, meaning that if you want to get 8hr of sleep, you'd be going to bed (and actually falling asleep) immediately after. If you want to, you know, eat food and have a social life, then 7-8hr isn't feasible. Even going down to 6hr sleep, which I believe is the recommended minimum, you'd only have 2hr (3 if he "only" did 7hr gaming). He's probably doing 3-5hr, probably skipping a day here and there too. It's absolutely impressive.
@@callumanderson6373 What do you mean? 9 to 5 = 8hrs Gaming for 8hrs totals 16hrs You’re left with 8hrs to do whatever you want. Then if the job has off days (most ppl get off 2 days a week) then it’s 16hrs you have left on those 2 days if you decide to game for 8hrs on your off days. When MenaRD won Cup the first time, he did an interview where he stated that he practiced for 7-8hrs every day. These guys game for a living, it’s like a second job to them. They are so good because they put in those hours consistently. That’s what separates them from the rest.
@@SomeRandomDude821 I don’t find it impressive because most pro players do this and has been a thing for YEARS across the FTG community in general. It’s nothing new at all. N you guys are thinking about it in a DRASTIC sense that they stick to this schedule for 365 days a year…… n that’s probably not the case, of course people take time off for vacation and social life 🤦🏾♂️
Remember that mena did the same thing ahainst nuckledu when he qualified...my take burnout happens too frequently in this game just saying,i feel its unavoidable which is a strange design but u know what lets not talk about pro players dropping combos involving button presses and move on...
Jammerz is probably the most knowledgeable commentator (out of the bunch). His sf5 results were pretty good. I think if zhi came back, zhi would be more knowledgeable, but zhi sometimes say things that feels weird. (Yes it's his style, but I think the sht he want to say on the mic wouldn't fly nowadays) I hope jammerz is kept around more. He's very knowledgeable, (I find him) entertaining and also pretty funny. He just seems like the "full package" commentator
@@Freakattaker oh I love his knowledge and some of his jokes are brilliant. Sometimes I listen to old videos and I’m like “yeah this dude will get cancelled if he says this type of stuff today”. He’s def smart enough to not step on the landmine, but part of me is like “zhi please don’t say this, please.”
it's a great game by both, the first set was won dominantly by Chris Wong and reset the bracket. The Uma make a nice comeback with the 3-0 victory as well. Congratulation to UMA he is now a millionaire.
They were going back and forth too much in the Winners final, Uma knew after the second loss to not go for a reverse 3-0, so he just played the match for extra data pretty much and used it against him in the next set.
Keep up the great work HiFight! Congrats to Uma, Congrats to all the Capcom Cup Staff, Congrats to all the players who entered, and Cheers for another Capcom Cup for SF6.
Chris Wong could have been sitting in grand finals with set advantage if his level 1 beat Juri's fireball in the first set they played. This game is insane lol
I alternate between loving how short and sweet these videos are, and also sometimes wishing we could get something longer cuz I can watch these vids for so long 😅your insights are so poignant but concise, getting peaks into the higher realm of god players with videos like this or the adaptation short story will never not be a satisfying feeling, thanks for your effort
Great analysis, I was glad to witness this finals between these 2 great amazing players. I had my vote for Chris Wong to win the whole thing but I am glad that UMA did instead. I like both characters Juri & Luke and seeing Juri winning a major tournament like this puts a smile on my face. Congrats to UMA and also Chris Wong for a phenominal ending. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Seeing you make an analysis video like this and then also make that proof-of-concept Footsies mod with drive gauge makes me feel like you love the rock paper scissors it puts players into
"$1M is gonna go to UMA" You sure it's not going to Ookami Mio? In all due respect, UMA's perfect parry gave him the opportunity to turn around what would've been Wong's chance to claw back from the 2-0 deficit. GGs, UMA. Make your oshi happy.
Me personally, the only place Luke really went wrong was the blind jump out of corner into a blatantly spaced anti air. Juri was literally anticipating that and he fell right into it. As for the perfect parry wake up nothing to do but predict it and try to bait. Otherwise the Juri was just flat out being a better player as evidenced by 3-0 grand finals. Thats a hard clean up
this is all hindsight but i guess chris wong could have also not used his level 3 when it wasn’t going to kill. this is a perfect example of why you might not want to do that
the fact that Juri sa2 can do 2 drive bar damage is huge. Maybe from now on people will use less drive rush cancel combo against Juri if she has 2 bars.
We should change the meme, would you wake up dp for a million dollars? to would you attempt a wake up perfect parry for a million?. Lmao amazing stuff and analysis as always dude.
I mean, its easier to slow things down in a rewind and pick out what was the best option, then actually performing the best option in the middke of a match with high stakes. Hell, even a random online match its hard to pick the best option because at the end of the day, unless it kills your opponent will still have a chance to win round.
I was rooting for Chris Wong after all he grinded throughout many tournaments but man, UMA was the real MVP with his Juri, a real unsung hero. Mad congrats for him.
SF6 might be one of those games like VF where sometimes it's better to just let your opponent get up without you being totally on top of them. Perfect Parry can really fuck your shit up if they hit it at the right moment. Or at the very least delay meaty timings to throw your opponent off.
As it was happening, I remember watching this round thinking " please don't spend all that meter early on Memphis". As soon as I saw 0 meter and that Juri Perfect Parry I knew Luke had completely lost momentum.
Props to UMA but i loved how SF 6 meta matured since the game released 8 months ago. I remembered a lot of people said Drive Impact will be "broken" but then turns out Drive Rush is more important than DI in high level play. But the meta changed again with Perfect Parry have more and more important roles in high level play. I hope Capcom didn't changed much of the universal mechanics.
It was a tough decision. Jump and risk the meaty, block or wakeup parry and risk the throw. He could have tried a delayed throw tech but that would risk getting shimmied. There was no perfect answer, it was a tough RPS that led him to that checkmate and his scissors were beaten by a rock in the form of a meaty low.
CW wants to win this round quickly so he lets UMA gets to level three. If he plays more cautious he would get it. Just like last time, grand final, he throws the fire balls but juri’s fire ball reach first. Sometime u need to watch out for the threats during the attack.
as a pure FTG audience, it always make me crazy that how these calculations runs in back of those pro player’s mind. All the practice they went through make these math problems turns into pure bottom pressing and reflection.
