Powerball revealed the winners of the $1.3 billion ticket drawn earlier this month in Oregon. A husband and wife plan to split the winnings with a family friend. Carter Evans has the story.

Unless, you're someone who's capable of making hundreds of millions of dollars, I wouldn't complain about that. Let them take all those taxes. I would still be worth hundreds of millions, regardless. I can't possibly spend all that money in my lifetime, anyway. I don't gamble, I'm not into fashion, I don't do drugs, drink, or party, etc. So, having almost $400M is more than enough for me and my family.

Your missing the whole point. The game steals half back in a cash option penalty. Then the state and federal government Robb you. It should be mandatory that each state posts the exact winning amount if you take the cash option penalty and what you actually get after the taxes. Especially because the game has astromical odds.

The game steals more then half back. If you take the " cash option" The federal government gets 37% and then you state tax. Which very by state. If you take the annunity your payed the percentage of the lump sum for 29 years. So your fist payment would have probably been around 10 million before taxes. Then as the years go on you get more money per year depending on the interest rate. The lottery is quite a racket when you start looking into it.

Why would they match the video of the buyer who turned in the ticket? 1:32 I thought people who won that high amount, would go right to the regional Lotto headquarters. (not to the local 7-Eleven to collect their pay out) & anyone who goes to turns in the ticket, may not necessarily be the original “buyer” of the ticket.

I don't understand the people here complaining about the tax. Sure, they take a lot of it from the winnings. But, for investing a fraction to win $400M+ is not so bad at all. I wish I could be rich, but most likely I’ll die poor (probably before age 50) with my crappy car and disgusting apartment. I will forever be in debt and be depressed permanently. I used to think stuff like that or how the government has potential access to every facet of your life, then I realized once I ground reality to the highest level of consciousness.....the government becomes it's own system of its own reality. Then the word "government(ment means mind" makes sense
