I'm from Pakistan. Please don't give these people money. Just refuse when someone does that to you. To show the washroom, he's asking for 1000 (and refusing to take less). We don't want to promote these freeloaders. Instead, if you feel like it, give extra money as a tip to Careem riders, sellers, food places, and others working to earn it honestly.

Perhaps he has bad financial condition. So he asked. Don't feel bad or sad, when people are going through bad times financially, they do everything to get some cash. Be happy, atleast he isn't stealing or indulging in crimes. He asked and even chris mentioned that because the man showed him the way to washroom (which he found to be a good gesture), he gave him an amount that he thought fit.
