The only issue i've had with cheap ones is usually you can't turn the sound off and it drives me absolutely nuts haha.

After playing for awhile, I got my tamagotchi a “job” and transformed it twice using items I bought. I actually think this is a decent virtual pet!

I found one at TJ Max for $3. It’s called Digapet and it’s shaped like a heart. It’s the same exact thing. Like the exact same circuit board. It’s funny since if you keep scrolling thought the pets you’ll find spongebob Patrick and even Optimus prime and mega man. BTW the bottom right icon is telling you the pet needs attention. It will eventually go away when you play or feed with it. What’s bad is that you can’t tell what it needs Sorry so long The end

I love my frog called bob. I feed him, he sends me messages....the envelope icon, which tell me he has pooped. You can put the secret code in the key...444 many times to increase your gold and buy things. Then you clean him up using the wash bucket/toilet? icon,, you feed him bread or cake with the chef in hat? icon...depending on what kind of parent you are, then you play games to collect gold. Then with your collected gold you can go to the shop. Keeps resetting.

I can smell the bootleg trough the screen

I wouldn't mind purchasing a few of these to practice painting the shells in a custom design. Some people will paint the authentic Tamagotchi shells and I'd like to learn to do the same, only I'd rather practice on something cheap first. :)

The flashing icon means it needs attachion. It most likely needs to eat then you can play with it.

Hey I got one of these too! The stupid reset button is such a hassle, but on the bright side ordering this little guy inspired me to do some searching for an authentic one and get the real deal.

Well, it's not even a real Tamagotchi :P fakes are often poorly made.

i hAVE A 168 IN 1 AND IT HAS 25 TIME LOGGED i wanna say its days but mine came with a manual but it was for the 49 in 1 planning on getting a real one ended up ripping the reset off on the thing and not screwing the board back in so the screen was all weird also if anyone needs the chart thing of item prices for people without the bootlegs these make the tama thingy evolve the bear thing is 500 gold the bow is 600 and heart is 700 and to evolve it go to that heart icon and select the yin yang once you have one of any of those items get a random sprite

I found one at my local Poundland for around the same, and I used it as a substitute for a Digimon Tamagotchi until it arrived. I gave it to my friend's 3 year old daughter afterwards.

These are very cheaply made Chinese knockoffs; my wife bought one just for the fun of it; she's a collector of tamas/virtual pets. Hers is a 168 in 1, and is blue and green with a rather intricate color background. The pet you choose isn't the one you play with; a different character eats and plays the game, which you can't do unless the critter will let you. This is not a user friendly pet unlike the real Tamagotchi, and the plastic the toy is made from is very thin and inferior. I think my wife paid $2 and change. It didn't work right after she replaced the batteries either. Advice: save your money and buy a real tama/virtual pet.

I used to get these from those capsule gacha machines for $1 in Singapore

The screws can be replacements for 1997 Tamagotchis that have soft screws. Saves from going to Home Depot to try to find such small screws, or buying a bunch of eyeglass repair kits.

I watched this to figure out how to play with my pet hoping you'd know cuz I forgot since I was really young when these were the rage but you're just as confused as I am haha. I died when you unscrewed the back and the whole thing fell apart lmfao "oh shit? omg what the"

You can get one with the same program but with better plastic moulds

The only good thing about it is it never dies. I have one and left it on for months and it’s not dead. I never even fed it.

I have one but be warned if you wear it as a keychain the reset button or other buttons are super finicky and too easily to be touched and you gotta start all over. You dont need military time you can just skip it. Also the volume never turns off so it can annoy everyone in a three mile radius and the instructions they give are utter shit so you gotta play around to see how it works and how to care for your tama and taking out the pull tab is hell on earth other than that its alright to play with.

These are great for replacement buttons that's what I did with these I just use them for parts

I think they just made this to show off the guys pixel art abilities

If the hardware is anything similar to a real tamagotchi you could overwrite the rom with the rom of a mini

I got the orange/yellow one as well, they were €3,- in the store. I never had a tomogatchi before, but i just knew they were knock offs. The instructions say how you can care for them, but i accidentally press the reset button one time, and all progress is lost. Not exactly fun.

In my opinion the flashing stands for its happiness or hunger level, hope this helps you out

Hi these knock off’s are actually kinda fun because I know the dynamics. The first icon in the top left is the about section press the decide button then there will be a little clock and a weight section (I think I might be how many meals it has had) to go the next icon press cancel and then select then decide. The icon has a little chef hat this is the kitchen. This is where your pet can eat the first option is sashimi (it looks like this one 🍣) the next icon is a toilet. The reason when you click it, it does this sweeping thing is because when your pet needs to go to toilet there will be a small poop on the screen and it will beep. The next icon is a bat where you can play with your pet the first game is catch the ball and the next is doge the planes. If it has a chicken shaking its head that means it doesn’t want to play or it isn’t the time to play. The one after that is sending love to your pet. I honestly don’t know how this works cause every time I press it the chicken shakes its head so ya. The next one the speaking one is the one you were confused about. This is the discipline one , you press it and talk to your pet about rules and stuff Let me know if you want me to continue

My mom gave me one of those for Christmas and I was not able to figure out what to do with it. So I was still able to make some use of it: I took off the batteries and put them in my old Tamagotchi that I got almost 30 years ago. And guess what? It’s still working perfectly. Now I am taking care of my dino. Yes, there is only one pet, but it actually works and makes sense.

I have this and i love it, and the best thing the tamagotchi can't die, they usually turn off otomatticly if you don't play it in 15 minutes

OMG I ORDERED THE ONE THAT YOU HAVE BUT WHEN IT ARRIVED TWO BUTTONS STOPPED WORKING AND THE OTHER TWO JUST RESET THE GAME but then the remade came in and it’s smaller and easier to play

fuel gauge: stats icon next to fuel gague: food toilet: used to remove poop baseball bat: games heart: pc, jobs etc speaking thing: idk bag with "+" icon: medkit, used for healing the pet mail: flashes if you have mail book: others last icon: flashes if pet needs attention (usually feeding)

The flashing icon in the lower right is the attention icon. The pet needs food or something. At least it's in the same place as a real Tamagotchi.

Mine is fake and its not bad. Idk why people are over reacting! It is super good. You just have to get used to the buttons. Mine is cute, the sound isn't crap at all and even though it is fake its pretty good. You don't need to keep complaining and whining haters.
