I love the new re releases (Gen 1 and 2) So many different and new beautiful shells.. It's amazing how much joy such a simple gadget/toy can bring.

Now I miss our old Tamagotchi toy! :( I remember waking up early everyday just to check up on him and see if he's evolved into the next stage. Lol. I was like, 8 yrs old then. Ahhh time flies!!!

It's cool that humans can feel an attachment to such simple things. Maybe its a good sign we'll treat AI well. I get attached to them to, I have some pet amoebas on my phone that I constantly check up on. (btw great santa voice-over)

I'm like you, I love the classic look//feel of these. I am kinda sad there's not more options but, it's okay I can just mess around with one of my others that does have all the options. Definitely love it as an accessory, or for the kiddos. Thanks for the video!!!

I have a Tamagotchi connect gen 3 somewhere 😂, haven't used it in ages, but I loves it as a kid, me and my brother both had one and we used to connect them all the time. For relatively simple looking technology they were really reliable! I had the union jack one that I'm guessing was probably only released in the UK, it was great though, I may have to find it

I live in South Korea and I just ordered one from Japan and it's in the mail. I never got a Tamagotchi when I was a kid, so I'm pumped to get this new one.

It's a little disappointing to find out the anniversary one is just a re-release of the Mini, because I already have 2 minis from when they came out years ago. But it's still cool to see them come back. I have over 30 myself, many Japan-only, so it's cool to see another collector who was as passionate (and nerdy) about them as myself ;)~

Love your Tamagotchi videos! And I was super surprised that they're releasing a 20th anniversary Tama, so thanks for making a video about it! I remember you had a couple of Digimon videos, too---did you know that Bandai also released a 20th anniversary Digimon?

I wish they came back with the connection and then rather than the stupid app that they have, to have a pokemon go type app which you then load onto the computer and then onto your handheld tamagotchi. That would truly start the craze again!

yes these mini ones, at least in Japan, are marketed more as accessories

My boyfriend got one for me Christmas Eve! At first I was a bit disappointed by the simplicity of it, as I had Tamagotchi Connection when I was a kid, but like you said, I don't have a lot of time to keep a normal Tamagotchi alive! I can just check on it every few hours or so to feed it or clean it's poop. Which is nice for when I'm at work haha! Mine will be 2 days old tonight and his name is Barbosa, he's the goofy faced one with the long legs!

Love your channel. I believe nobody loves Tamas more than you and myself. They were my best friends all my life. You taught me about the forest tamas and I adore it! I have three re-released tamas and two Tamagotchi On as well as Gudetama. They’re all amazing and I am so glad there’s a fan base for them.

I got mine at target on sale for $7.50, best toy ever as a kid. Once mine hatched it’s egg it was very needy. I had to play with it, feed it and keep it happy.

I recently got the Gudetama tamagotchi, based on the mini, when I was in Hong Kong. And obviously, you raise a little gudetama.

God these were so expensive when I was a kid!

This is a huge nostalgia hit for me. I used to have one of these, way back when. Though the simplicity of these new ones is a turn off for me. So, meh, I'm good. Keep up the great work!

I can't believe it came to my country as soon as it was released. I would have thought it would have taken longer to spread from Japan. Crazy! 20 years, I feel old...

I was not expecting such an overly simplified version at all. (The small size didn't make me assume there would be small tasks to it.) I do see it (The 2018 mini) as more of an accessory than a classic tomagotchi or a neko atsume game.

I found mine at think geek, I got the all white one; haven’t opened it yet, I also haven’t decided where I want it, on my key chain? lanyard? or change it out with my dog tag/ball and chain necklace? It’s small enough to go on my carbine for my backpack too, lots of options.

Yes, you just confirmed that I made the rigtt choice. I have lots of more complex games, but can't invest much time in them currently as I have exams. This will be just what I need. A little virtual pet which thankfully doesn't require too much effort, but comes with all the enjoyment of raising one!

Tamagotchis weren’t as popular as Giga Pets or Nano Pets/Babies in Vegas where I am originally from. Nano Babies were the most popular, followed by Giga Pets, and then finally Tamagotchis. My niece has one of the IR ones somewhere unless it was tossed.

I used to have the old one when I was little and l am so happy to see a new one !!

Since it's my birthday today this made me feel hella old since I had this my junior year in high school. I loved these things but they were eventually banned from my school (it caused a "distraction"). Left it with my mom and she never, ever paid attention to it. Always came home to a dead pet smh... 😊😊😊

I got one yesterday by chance when picking up my sons birthday presents. I didn't know at the time that they didn't have the full experience, which was a tad disappointing. But I've just ordered some new batteries to boot up an old Tamagotchi I found in a drawer at home so I at least will have that to play. The cost £9.99 here in the UK, which is super cheep!

Is there any way to pause these new Tamagotchi like we could with the older models?

I have the 20th anniversary Tamagotchi and ITS AMAZING. I’m 10 so this is new to me. His name is snores and he likes to sleepz. (Hints the name) and I love him so much. I bring him to school with me EVERYDAY. I bring him everywhere because I can’t risk him getting sick and dying. I’m soooo glad they made this one because I wouldn’t have had snores. Tonight I brought him to a restaurant lol. I’m definitely getting more from the store or off eBay.
