Now we know the reason why several countries had shown their interests and tried their luck on controlling Afghanistan at their own hands because of these minerals.
yes!! it is this buried mineral deposits that all developed countries are after. Soon China will try its hand if US and Russia didn,t make any attempt.
2010, the world was trying to control it way before that. That is USA propoganda to start arm race. If there was something worth that much USA would have looted it without telling anyone.

No one is going to spend money and have its own citizens killed to save people born in a pig religion. There need to be some factor that justifies the investment. Unfortunately some people just want to live in their prehistoric time and follow a pedo born thousands of year ago.
This corruption in Afghanistan made all those top officials including the president super rich when the average people live below poverty. I hope it's fixed soon.

The presence of large amount of these minerals will eventually prove to be a course for Afghanistan. The various powers such u.s.,China, Russia etc will support different factions to fight each other and supply the various factions with arms in return for these minerals
I have a gut feeling, America leaving in a hurry and Afghan army retreating without fight is a part of the script in ongoing geopolitics. Are Taliban working as per American script? Is this all part of the plan to thwart China and create instability in Xinjiang using Taliban? Also, to stop them from accessing rare earth metals in Afghanistan? Why would Afghan army with modern weapons and armoured vehicles leave without fight? Few things don't add up. Something big is going on in background.

The US government has also started political coups in Bolivia twice (1964 and 2019) just to gain control of Bolivia’s biggest lithium deposits, a total of 21 million tonnes worth of lithium.

No wonder USA and many others were interested in "civilising" Afghanistan. Glad that they ran away. Just hope that Taliban realises what they are doing is wrong and the afghan people work together to improve their lives. However, I'm also interested in seeing how all this turns out, as Taliban clearly cannot rule Afghanistan. Surely someone else will come to "civilise" everyone.

@Salmaniack... I may be wrong but the same was said of Ho Cho Minh's Vietnamese party. Fast forward to 45 yrs Obama was signing off on trade relations with Vietnam. Today, Vietnam is not the scum of the earth, it once was in the Western media. I hope the same for Afghanistan. Peace and prosperity.

More like Venezuela. Existence of mineral/natural resources doesn't make a country prosperous but proper management does. India, despite having one of the largest steel reserves in the world is far behind Japan in automotive and electrical industries. Management of resources is the key.
