I bought M3's for a few years. Then they noticably changed and the price went up $20. They don't last like they used to. The first few pairs I bought I wore and washed 2-3 times a week for 3 years before I wore a hole through the front thigh area from working. I am not a small guy, I wear 40x34 pants(no I am not fat, quite the opposite) and the main draw was Ariat made pants with an actual mid-rise so they didn;t go up my butt crack when i put them on. That changed too. I switched to Nautica. now they also discontinued recently the pants i was buying. Like everything nowdays, I am no longer brand loyal. the people that make the best thing get my money. Brands are pointless now.

I loved to see the comment about YKK! Almost 40 years ago I visited a YKK factory as a service technician to work on a fax machine. I saw some sign about YKK being the best zippers in the world, so I asked someone about that. The plant manager took me on a quick tour and explained the manufacturing process and exactly why they are the best. To this day, anyone that knows me knows I will not buy any serious product that has a zipper unless that zipper says "YKK"! lol

One area that carries some added interest in mens jeans are the number of belt loops. The more the better especially around the back to help prevent the leather belt from folding over. Interesting set of tests. It's truly hard to beat an $11 pair of Costco Jeans if they have them in stock...its a gamble Costco has them every time you shop there.

It is also true that sometimes we don't need a new pair of jeans (or jack stand, etc.) and we'd rather just find out the final brand that came out on top. One way to keep those viewers longer is to tell us upfront exactly what brands you are testing, during the intro. Thanks. (And, PS, Para-cord is still the video I am most excited for).

Almost everything Origin makes tends to be top-shelf. I’m social media acquaintances with one of the owners via jiu-jitsu and have gotten to see insights into how they think about things since they first started as a jiu-jitsu gi company. They’re always very “made in America” and quality-focused, and hearing Brian talk about decisions they make and changes they’ve made make it clear how serious they are about producing a high-quality product.

I buy cheap jeans, usually Old Navy, for work as they're cheap and I'm not sad if it's gets ruin. When it comes to jeans that I really like, believe it or not, Banana Republic are really good and it's fairly cheap at roughly $70. They fit kind of tight but over time, they get extremely comfortable as they start to loosen up. Will have to get a Costco membership as jeans for $11 is worth trying out.

Another great quality video! Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to get these tests done right and in an understandable fashion. On the topic of jeans, if you ever find yourself in an excess of money, might I suggest a showdown of fire retardant jeans or clothing in general? Over here in the land of the pump jacks, that's all we're allowed to wear for work, and that would be some seriously valuable information to the people out here. I'd understand if it takes a bit to get the video out or if it's out of reach because each pair starts at the $100+ range and just goes up from there. I believe this info can be comparable when it comes to the brands that also make the fr jeans as well, so no biggie if you say no. Keep up the great work, and thanks again!

I purchased Kirkland jeans for work for the last few years before I retired. They weren't bad, never split in the crotch, had a bit of a loose fit but that was good for movement, and though they weren't as heavy as Levi's or Wranglers they seemed to hold up OK. I also accidentally would get battery acid, or acid residue on jeans, and that would mercilessly dissolve any denim when washed, so, a cheaper value pair of jeans made more sense if and when I did damage them.

The problem with Kirkland jeans is that every other year or so they change the source of manufacturing and it changes the quality and especially a fit. I have some great Kirkland jeans from 10 years back and still going strong and few no so great that I purchased in last 5 years. Also, their black color jeans are totally off in fitting than just the blue ones. Basically, what I am saying is that Kirkland quality and fit varies with every batch.

@@alfredomarquez9777 I am not a Sam's member, so I can't comment on that point. But in my experience you couldn't be more wrong about Costco. All of the Kirkland products I've tried are a great value when compared to a highly advertised brand. I own some Kirkland jeans and dress shirts, the jeans hold up well for me. The Kirkland dress shirts are the best I have found in the last 10 years. Better than Van Heusen at 1/2 the price. If you buy Kirkland, you get similar performance to a leading brand at a lower price point.

Part of my criteria for jeans is how the cut of them feels while wearing them. I avoid the Rustler brand, as they seem to feel like a cheap hotel (no ballroom), and some of them felt like they were on backwards all the time. (Hard to describe, like the fabric on the front of the thigh is tight when you move your legs.) Some of the best britches I have are the old Faded Glory and Basic Editions (No Kmart around here these days, so can't get them anymore) which allow a good range of motion, are fairly sturdy, and ride high enough to hide the plumber's posterior.

They are marketed as more designer Jeans than work pants but I would love to see how Naked and Famous jeans made in Canada hold up if you test more brands. Love the content and it has helped me with several buying decisions 😁 Also I think it would be cool to see Tow straps tested, brands like Yankum or Bubba Rope.

Those 32 ounce jeans would be interesting in the test, Levi's are about 10 or 11 ounces per square yard for comparison. Naked and famous does interesting things but the build quality isn't as good as other selvedge brands out there.

I'm a Duluth fanboy. I switched from Wrangler to Duluth after some really bad quality issues with the Wranglers and they fit me better than anything I've ever worn before. I invested several hundreds of dollars buying jeans and underwear (the armachillo boxer briefs are really comfortable and worth $30/pair if you live in a hot climate) last year. It's nice to see them come out high in the rankings!

Thanks for doing the test. I think it all depends on what use the jeans are going to be used. I’m a desk jockey now, so jeans are for comfort and some warmth. The fit is most important for myself and durability is close to last, price is definitely a factor. I like how many modern jeans have stretch and don’t need to be broken in. In my teens and early 20’s, 501’s dominated my jeans wardrobe, then more designer jeans came into play; mainly Guess. Today as a man in his late 50’s, when did that happen; I look at Costco first lol. I can’t say I’ve ever bought their Kirkland brand, but I have bought the other brands they have available. Thanks, you’re the best as always. Happy New Year!!!

TEST: The best ranch coat/jacket for welding. I'm talking everyday ranch coat worn for working in but more specifically that will hold up to grinding/welding in. I've tried Walls, Carhart, Wrangler but the only one I can get to hold up more than one year is Outback Oilskin. All the rest fray easily then catch in fire and I don't care to buy and wear fire rated clothing to farm/ranch in everyday and leather sleeves don't fit over winter coats, are uncomfortable, binding and about impossible to keep up with.

Your reviews are the best on the internet! I would love to see a review on plunge/ track saws since that will be my next purchase. I feel like everyone I know who uses one uses a festool. I guess since they were the first to make it (I think). But now every large tool brand makes one and I'm curious how they compare. Watching your drill video that compared the festool TPC 18 makes me think their's isn't worth the price now that they aren't the only track saw game in town.

Really useful video! The one thing I'd suggest is including a rise measurement alongside the waist measurement. Pants are made from patten blocks based on standardized sets of measurements. so a 32x32 will be drafted using a "body" that has a 32" waist, but if it designed with a lower rise then the waistband won't sit at the natural waist and might be larger without being out of spec. The curve is less dramatic in menswear patterns, but it still makes a difference! Plus, rise is a very useful measurement for finding the right fit.
