This is the most legit Filipino street food vlog I’ve seen. It’s not in a food bazaar or a mall. You really went outside and tried what common Filipinos would buy in that area in terms of street food. As a Pinoy who loves street food, I really connected with Sonny on this one.
@yshrivera
@yshrivera Год назад
I agree. What I noticed from foreign food vloggers trying streetfood here is they find a bazaar or nightmarket and although I also like the food there, it can get crazy expensive compared to common Filipino streetfood. A stick of fishball can cost 60 pesos compared to the 2 for 1 peso you can get from an actual streetside vendor.

Dude i miss Manila alot, especially the carederias in Makati City near the YMCA hostel in Heart Road. Also Siargao Island is beautiful, and the food is actually sensational. Lots of fusion restraunts, and lots of local places(my favourite) visit Mamas BBQ, Altrove Tratorria, Bollocks Bar and of course Dapa Town boulevard BBQ. Brngy Catangnan in the surf town and surfing capital of the Phillies, General Luna. has plenty of street bbq, which have the best sauce ive tasted, ever. please try visit there! Thanks for this video bro its brought back so many good memories of the good ,friendly ,helpful people of the philippines. Also, Especially meeting my Philipino soulmate ( wife now hehehe)there . Cloud 9 joy.Salute my friend thanks again for the great content!!!!

7:35 - We're actually the same. Its not about the food its about the dipping sauce that matters. Lol The food actually taste the same from places to places but if the sauce is on fire, you definitely hit the jackpot!

If there's one thing I always encourage people who are traveling internationally is to hit up the food markets. Love experiencing the different stalls, following the smells, and also how cheap it can be! You really do get the most out of your dollar, cheapest meal I've spent was $0.25 in Thailand for pad thai. Never take for granted what you have in your own country because others don't have it the same. Thanks for this video as it hits home! :)

@@pietrojenkins6901 There's rather a thin line between what's hygienic or not when it comes to street food. A lot of foreigners won't even go near them, but most Filipinos don't mind. And, truth be told, hardly anything wrong happens to a person trying street food here, at least most of the time. It's best to have the knowledge like a local on what food to try or not. But honestly, a lot of Filipinos just try random street food that isn't at all hygienic, however; that's not to say we lack hygiene. In fact, Filipinos are some of the most hygienic people in the world, it's just that we really love our street food.
@khust2993
@khust2993 2 года назад
@@pietrojenkins6901 Filipinos are used to these, their stomachs can handle it. Also, need to adhere to the "hidden rule" that everyone who eats fishball or kikiam knows, don't dip your stick more than once on the sauce container.

Not really for the kikiam, fishballs, squid balls etc the flavour will always come from the sauce with a hint of subtle differing flavour from them, the main thing the kikiam, fishballs etc provides is the texture. The kwek kwek is different though. Not talking about the ones with the vinegar though.

@@poloking29 I respect when people go to places that aren't well known to the world, but absolutely "loving" everything you eat is a bad look. It makes it look like nothing is even truly special to him. It comes off as super fake because Weins reacts the same exact way to everything he eats. No way in hell does any normal person do that.

LMAO we had a fishball cart near our office and they had some very awesome sauce. We kept on badgering the vendor to sell us a bottle of their sauce, but he won't give in. Also... yeah, the fried isaw can be hit or miss. Even in the "franchise" booths, they can sometimes taste bad.
