Building a collection on a budget are enjoyable vids. Personally I look for games that don’t necessarily have an ending or are multiplayer to keep gaming going indefinitely like Balloon Fight, Dr. Mario, Blades of Steel, Rampart, Spy vs Spy, Bubble Bobble, Excitebike (ah level editor), RC Pro Am, Donkey Kong Classics & Tecmo Bowl. Sounds boring? Not at all, all play excellent and have tons of replay value that never ends. Just my thoughts

Been meaning to suggest this to you guys for a while: I know you two aren't huge N64 fans, but you are big wrestling fans. Wrestling coop games on N64 were great. I feel like you should do a video comparing all the N64 wrestling games. I think it would be amazing, and youd have fun making it.

Back in the day before we had to go to work, I'd have a few guys that wanted to come over and play a couple rounds of some WCW. vs n.W.o World Tour, WCW Revenge, or even WWF No Mercy! I had 4 controllers always plugged in and we'd go at it. Sometimes we may have even bet a little money to see who would win. Great times!

I rarely disagree but Tecmo SB is a top 5 game for me all time. The ability to play a season and it had stat tracking, one of if not the first game, to ever do that. My buddies and I would pick a team and play the entire season during the summer when we were out of school. I remember we would haul that damn cart from house to house and on occasion somebody would hit reset and it would wipe our season stats out. The other 2 would be so pissed LOL! Great memories and Tecmo SB still holds a special place in my heart! :)

Killing it with this $100 Budget Series! I slept on Jackal as a kid. I don't have an NES, hope to play it some day in some format. Mention of Guerilla War brought me back to a moment in my childhood when my neighbor, who had Silver Bordered Konami Posters lining his & his brother's bedroom, was telling me about it being a Contra like game I had to play. Since you brought up Guerilla War, POW would be another great SNK title to add to the list since it's pretty cheap & a beat em up to give more variety.

Interesting fact: There's actually two variants of Tecmo Bowl. There's a cart with a white Nintendo seal of quality and one with a black seal. Info I uploaded on Pricecharting: "There were two NES versions of the game released in the U.S. The first release is identified by its black and gold seal of quality and the second version by its white and gold seal. The original Tecmo Bowl (Black Seal of Quality) for the NES features Eric Dickerson as running back and Albert Bentley as a kick returner for Indianapolis. A later version (White Seal of Quality) that was released had Albert Bentley as running back and Clarence Verdin as a kick returner, instead."

Great picks, gents. As a wee lad, I lost so much time to some of these games. Tiger-Heli, Tecmo Bowl, RBI Baseball, and of course SMB and Duck Hunt. The fond memories of those Tecmo Bowl high fives in the end zone and the light up crowds in RBI after a dinger help dampen the trauma of that damn laughing dog in Duck Hunt. Me and him ‘bout to go after it.

RBI is a weird game it doesnt seem to be talked about much on youtube but it has just as big cult following as tecmo bowl! They have tournaments all over the United States all year like Tecmo Bowl! So its pretty huge still! Yeah you two would love that game! Cheers brotha!

Tecmo Super Bowl Have a lot of hours in in Basewars, and Tecmo Super Bowl loved playing wi th at the times nfls worst anc pulling them to the big game and Basewars what’s not to like. My pick is the first TMNT game on the nes. I just finally beat it with a original nes and i think it's a criminally underrated game. You can still find it for cheap and once you get good it's got some addictive gameplay

Great list. I like the idea of getting a lot of bang for your buck. My two cents: Replace Kings of the Beach with Super Spike V'Ball / Nintendo World Cup ($6,50). You can still play beach volleyball, you can still use your Four Score and you get Nintendo World Cup. More bang for your buck! And for the life of me I can't understand why, so far, I haven't seen anybody in any of these videos picking Star Tropics. This happens to be my favorite video game of all time and it costs less than $11,-!

Yet again, another banger of a video, fellas. Wonderful job! I'd probably swap out Kings of the Beach for the double cart of Super Spike V'Ball and Nintendo World Cup which goes for around $6. Also the nerd in me needs to interject. Tiger Heli was published in Japan by Taito. Developed by Toaplan. Also McGwire was on the AL All Star squad in RBI Baseball.

Twin Cobra is one of the best top down shooters on NES, but a game not many people talk about. It's similar to Tiger Heli, because it uses a helicopter, but more fast paced.

I don't know much about NES prices because I play Famicom so I just import my 8 bit games in bulk from Japan for about $3 per game on average but one game I would definitely try to work in would be Urban Champion because it's one of my top 5 favorite NES games and I don't think it's particularly expensive. You could probably get a bunch of great deals on the black box games in general and those are some of my all time favorite video games. And great call with Jackal; it's tied with the first two Contra games for my favorite Konami game.

Been wondering when you guys would finally get on this train! Guerrilla War is a fun one; that was one of the first co-op games a buddy and I sunk some time into, over and over again, when I began collecting stuff again in the late 90s. Ugh, pass on Tiger-Heli; that was one I grew up with but ooof, it never grabbed me and usually annoyed me more in comparison to other shooters the NES had. It was the Dollar General version of all the rest. lol Batman is a great pick--good game, great challenge, amazing 8-bit soundtrack.

Having both Jackal and Batman is an absolute must in my opinion, for any NES library. Idk if any of these really fall into the price-friendly category, but some I'd also recommend would be: Heavy Barrel, Guardian Legend, Kabuki-Quantum Fighter, Gun.Smoke,1943, Dragon Spirit, and Gremlins 2.

Jackal is so underrated it didn't even get a PAL release. I never understood that. Konami released Road Fighter and Crackout for NES in PAL territories but not Jackal.

I just got a Game Boy Advance, so it would be nice to see a video like this for the GBA and also Game Boy and Game Boy Color as well since the original and SP models are backwards compatible. My game collection for the GBA is very tiny right now.

Great list of games. I got very lucky on eBay just last month. Got Nina Gaiden for 10 Double Dragon for 11 Metroid for 13 And Mario Bros 2 and 3 each for 15. All of them with free shipping 😀

Great list guys, some of the cheap ass games i like are RC Pro Am, Captain Skyhawk, Sky Shark, Blades of Steel, Bionic Commando, Pro Wrestling.. all under 10 bucks each. Also Gun.Smoke is about 12 bucks and would have to be on the list too.

Of the lot, Jackal is my go to for a dirt cheap Konami game that is fun on multiplayer action. One I always tell people to pick up day one of collecting.

In the $10-$11 range, Blaster Master, Bionic Commando, and Shadowgate are top tier NES games that could easily be on a $100 budget. I think it's better to have 7 or 8 $11 games than go for the $5-$8 range for the most part.

If you can work a philips head screwdriver you can replace it yourself in 20 minutes. Just order a new 72 pin connector from ebay or clean and boil your old one.

Derrick, in my experience that just means the pins in there need cleaned, which case a cleaner cartridge will take care of that. Aside from that, I believe top loader NES has fewer issues with dust/dirty pins, although they cost more. Dammit, I just looked at price charting and they (top loaders) are averaging $164 right now. lol

Replace Kings of the Beach with Super Spike V'Ball. It's cheaper with the Nintendo World Cup combo. SSVB is just as cheap as KotB and, in my opinion, more fun. And yes, it's 4 players. Great list by the way!

There's no game stores around me, so I opted for flea markets. I got Tetris, and the SMB three pack for 3 bucks I think. Basically if you are buying from a younger person they tend to overcharge. I don't flip games BTW. But an older person generally has no idea or doesn't care what they have. I think a lot of them buy lots and just want to move it. And, since they don't want to repack it and take it home, show some interest early in the day and come back before close. and make an offer. Of course if you find something awesome, jump on it. I don't really know game prices. But Pro Wrestling, a black box game should be cheap. Never been re released as far as I know. Atari games had beautiful box art. Nintendo went with pixels, which I think made the games look a bit cheap. As said, I don't know the prices of most games. But Zanac is a space shooter that adjusts to your skill. Should run a buck or two. POW is a Double Dragon clone but it's decent. Iron Tank, another good one. But I like the B listers. Low G Man, Metal Mech, Monster in my Pocket. Basewars has robots playing baseball. Apparently Baseball Simulator is really good too. Just get out there and look.

Great video I got most of these but love tetris way more then dr. Mario. Tetris is in my top ten games ever. Don't like dr. Mario but respect that you Guys like it more. But jackel is great and got it bc of you guys. Jackel is awesome. Batman is great it looks great. When I got it I was like this could be a super nintendo game. Scoped out PC and the only games i could see that you didnt pick (which most were good pics for sure) that were all $10 and under were - Commando, RC Pro-am, Rush n Attack, Millipede, Astyanax, Karnov, and Roller Games. could easily swap in and out your list and any of these and have a great 100 dolla holla.

Most of my games would probably be sports or TMNT games because like them more than any other games that I have played except for regular fifa games in the sport game s Madden or any NFL is made not just to have fun but so you can choose whatever team you want to be you don't have to use your favorite team every time

@@GamingOffTheGrid It's a really cool Nes golf game with Mario like characters. I like RBI Baseball and Tecmo Bowl as well. NES Open is a cool game to grab a beer, relax and play golf much the same way. The art style on the box and cartridge alone is worth $5. A game that has a lot of NES charm. I hope you guys give the game at least a chance.
