living alone in seoul ep.42 - treated myself to a staycation at the tallest hotel in Korea - SIGNIEL SEOUL located at the top of the lotte tower! It was such a nice experience to be treated so well by the staff and to have a room with panoramic views of seoul! We upgraded to have the river view and scenic bath and it was worth it. So breathtaking!!
This staycation was so special and relaxing, it’s definitely a memory I treasure. Immediately as I was experiencing this staycation, I wanted so badly to take my parents here one day. They deserve everything and I want to give them opportunities to see the world. They’ve sacrificed so much for me and I wouldn’t have the life I have now if it weren’t for them. One day mom and dad, I’ll show you the world.

Ugh this hits so hard. That first gen responsibility to live the life our parents couldn't - to show them their sacrifice was worth it; but then the guilt that comes along with experiencing a world they didn't have access to and wanting to be able to show them those things while you still can is... a lot. But your happiness will always be their happiness and I'm sure they know your heart. You have plenty of time to give back to them, but you have to experience life through your own lens first (no pun intended) before bringing them along on your journey. Be kind to yourself! You're doing great and I'm sure they're so proud of you

Thank you for your encouragement Alyssa, you’re right that my happiness is theirs. The physical distance between my parents and I also make things so difficult 😣

@@DeliaX I get it :( Also in Seoul ironically enough while my parents are in the states, but the BEST thing you can do for them while you can't be with them is taking care of yourself and your happiness. Hang in there girl!

I can totally relate to the end, I want my parents to experience everything Amazing that I experience and my main goals in life is to be successful enough to pay them back too!! But you’re parents did incredible things and you must be so proud 💕💕

I agree with another poster. As a parent I always want more for my children and grandchildren than I have. Living well is the best gift you can give your parents. Then they know they raised you to be independent and happy. There is no amount of money you can give to your parents if they know you're not happy. They would spend it all trying to make your life better. And knowing how much you love them is the icing on the cake. ❤

Hot damn that hotel, that view was EVERYTHING!!!!! Man the end hit hard, as humans were programmed to wanna do better for our parents even if they don’t want our help, you are completely valid in your feelings wirh wanting them to experience what you do on the daily, believe that one day you’ll all experience it together ❤❤

I usually don’t comment to RU-vidrs, but your message about taking care of your parents really made an impact. I completely understand you, which is why I have worked my ass off. I have achieved my goals of becoming a physician assistant and have saved enough money for this once in a lifetime journey. My parents and I will be spending a year in Korea. To kick off the celebration, I have arranged the Rolls Royce package for them (and I get to tag along!) for a week’s stay in the Double Deluxe Suite at Signiel Seoul. I can’t wait!!

I love your video!!! It’s amazing you want to share all these experiences with your parents!! I wish I could of done more for mine before they passed. We did have a lifetime of beautiful moments and experiences!! Definitely relate to the comment. Often times feeling like a failure even though we are trying to have the success in life to give back to the parents. It definitely feels selfish at times to be able to experience these things that your parents could not. I try to give back in my own way, as they get older, you spend more time with them, having lunch with them, or even calling them. Though the experiences may be different, and they might say they don't want it. lets be real, it'll be a good break. At this point, its a race against time. You're doing great! Love your vids! Hang in there.

we stayed in september for 2 nights at signiel. The room was amazing but it was a litte bit uncomfortable for us with all the people there in the lobby. They were dressed like millionaires and I went there with my plastic bags from shopping hahhah and on the other side u see people with gucci bags. And i found it a little bit different for pay fopr the minibar like we paid 900 euro for 2 days.....

I guess it's kinda the opposite for me, of course I don't want to be jealous of my peers, but it's a similar AND different kind of guilt to feel like I'm disappointing myself and my parents, that it might seem that I'm not doing anything worthwhile with my life, that their sacrifices meant nothing in the end if I couldn't/can't make the most of them... That kind of worry is so crushing...

Honestly parents never raise their kids in thought of gaining something from them or like they never expect us to return the pay for raising us they just want us to be happy in every path we choose that’s the only thing they want but in a view of us we want to give them everything that they never got to see it’s normal so Delia you’re not a failure girl I can bet how proud they’re of their daughter cause moving to another country with language barrier is just not easy and they know that very well so watching you enjoying your life is what a parents actually want that’s why never blame yourself you’re not selfish you’re trying your best and you will succeed just be strong and talk with your parents and you know that you’re always loved 🫶🏻
