Wait. A $125 high end palette gives you a SPONGE TIP APPLICATOR?! Not even a tiny brush? Nope. Negative. Nay nay. Even for a WTF, girl I'd be going AN getting my money back! That darker burgundy shade is pretty, but you can get a similar shade from Colourpop for $6.

Nuvia Reyes Yeah but this is $125, even the naked palettes that only cost $54 for 16 beautiful shades come with a full sized double ended brush. This is a FIRM PASS

It's a Japanese brand and people there are typically more into spongetip applicators than people in the west. A lot of western luxury brands come with spongetip applicators as well though, Dior, Chanel etc...

dior, elizabeth arden and estee lauder all give you spongetips and dior makes some of the most incredible quads in the make up world.

fallout galore, patchy coverage, poor color selection, crappy pigment, and super chunky....yet some how they thought it was okay to sell for that outrageous price. With that cost you'd think they could do some quality control

TheClairei Honestly I don't think any high end eyeshadow palette should come with a brush. If you're spending enough on good eyeshadow you should have good brushes for them.

TheClairei At least Urban Decay and Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palettes come with decent brushes. Who doesn't need one more clean extra eye brush even if you already have brushes?

uh I got an urban decay palette to try out decent makeup because low end stuff wasn't working for me and the brush was a godsend :/ don't be elitist geez, brushes are expensive and a free one is nothing to sniff at

Yup I have drugstore palettes that are way better than that (Makeuprevolution/sleek/essence/catrice)!! :O It just shows that you don't need to spend a TON of money to have good products :)

terrilucks I totally agree. They need to know that the quality of their products needs to match the price they charge for them. Absolutely ridiculous that they actually thought it was ok to sell those powdery shadows, especially with a sponge applicator. Like, as a customer, I would honestly be offended if they tried to sell that to me lol

Thank you again for doing brush swatches! I think doing both is so important since finger swatches can fib a little, and I really appreciate seeing more of how they would actually perform using them. Also like. I have Wet and Wild eyeshadows way nicer than this, and how much wet and wild could you get for this price?? LOTS.

it's a japanese brand. japanese girls use sponge tip applicator more than brushes. also, some eyeshadows works better by using the sponge or fingers. even chanel eyeshadow quads come with sponge tip applicators.

Sponge applicator? Really? HA. Those eyeshadows altogether in the palette look super gaudy and calamitous. E.l.f. has better quality (and better sense!) than that! Even if I had the money to do it, I don't think I'd even bother with the whole brand lol.

I think some of the kid's makeup from Claire's did better! I seriously don't get why a high end company would put out such an inferior product - especially these days with so much reviewing going on. It's not like they can hide behind their name and nobody will figure out how bad it is. Just super confusing.

I think you're right! WnW comfort zone is a way better palette with the same number of colors, costs five dollars, and the colors are much more workable.

I really wanna say something for CPB😂😂 CPB is an Asian brand and for makeup, Asian pursue something totally different. Most Asian are not a fan of super pigmented eyeshadow cuz we don't have that deep crease so if the eyeshadow is really pigmented, the eye makeup gonna turn out way too dramatic. CPB have some really good products like foundation, lipsticks , primer, setting powder, and skin care as well. Eyeshadow is not their famous product in their makeup line.

Honestly I've seen certain dollar store make up work WAY better then that. The LA colors stuff for a dollar no, but this was acting like teen or kids make up. Like go watch her kids make up challenge then watch this. At least with claires you get LOADS more colors if you really want (judging by graveyardgirls video), but this I don't know. The only thing going for it is the pretty packaging, but HONESTLY could probably DIY something cute like this. (not that the art work isn't AMAZING it is, but how much of the 125 is going to pay the artist/s?) Like... Print out a picture, glue it on something cheaper like ELF and seal it BAM. Or print out a cut out or get some stencils and paint, then paint on it and seal it BAM. Cute AND works better. (also gives me the urge to paint sheesh....)

I sometimes feel like some of these very expensive brand do not care about quality, because anyone rich enough will buy it anyway because it's a luxury brand. I can't really explain it well in english x)

I hope she was able to return it and get her money back. That has to be one of the bigger risks with this series. On the one hand you have a chance for the product to change your life (Tom Ford liquid eyeliner) and on the other hand you run the risk of a product being awful. You win some you lose some I guess :P

but yes. 125 dollars would make each shadow 15.62 dollars each. which is only 3 dollars more then the Anastasia singles, but the naked 3 has I believe 10 shadows for 54 dollars which would make each shadow only 5.4 dollars

who cares how much is each shadow if it is this crappy, when you can buy a 32 eyeshadow palette from morphe or MUG shadows for 5$, which perform a lot better than these ones. with a lot of these luxury brands you're just paying for the name.

How to use , from Clé de Peau Beauté site: "Apply the gold, pink, copper or white using the SPONGE APPLICATOR and LIGHT PATTING OR PRESSING MOTION.. Darker shades add contour and depth. Apply the maroon, deep green, rose or gray to the lid crease using the brush applicator and sweep out blending as desired." And you put way too much of a gloss , no wonder it felt heavy.

If you buy these in Japan, the lip gloss kit is around $50 and the eyeshadow palette for $90. As you can see, the products actually sold with a higher price tag in the US.

the burgundy shade looks just like the baked eyeshadow from elf in burnt plum. those are hit or miss though as far as which ones are buttery and which ones are dry. but at least with elf, you've only wasted $3 and not any more. lol.
