Alex.. I think $130 for GH Universal Hotel, better u choice to Swiss-belhotel Dago Heritage.. Its amazing view with infinity pool and golf course and every room have a bathtub.. Maybe next time if u come to bandung again, swiss-belhotel very recommended for u.. U and tania can dinner in the restorant with amazing view 😁😁
@@alexandwhite yeah beside Swiss-Bell should stay in Padma Hotel with nice view to the forest of northern bandung... Tania since she is local resident of Bandung should show you more great places..
@@alexandwhite Yap.. if you want to stay in authentic European style hotel, this is the place, and all delegates of the Asia Africa Conference stayed in this hotel (1950).
I used to live in Bandung for 6 years, the temperature at night is about 18-24 degree celcius, that's why air con aren't really mandatory. As long as there's air circulation, there shouldn't be qny problem.
Actually, Bandung is pretty cold at night, it's only hot if you stay near a big road, but as I know Braga isn't that big road and didn't really crowded with vehicle nowadays
In Bandung, no air conditioner is not a deal breaker. But no water heater on the shower is a deal breaker. Thats because Bandung is cold 😅 you need no AC. Trust me.
Definately the cheap room. I just sleep there, better spend the money on travel longer. Also to help some poor locals or a project at school or something! Greetings from Sweden!
Yea but don't look for really cheap one (below $5), as those kind of "hotel" often doubled as rent room for sex workers, don't care about hygiene, and is shady as hell.
For me the cheap one, because that was clean enough and located in the center, honestly, I don't really like the vintage style hotel, because a little bit creepy lol even it pricey
When I am in Bandung, I prefer to stay at Hotel Aryaduta (ex. Hyatt), the location is also nice which is connected to BIP MALL, you can get many restaurants there, it is only 1,5 km to Braga str.
@@alexandwhite or if you are looking for a scenic horizon, try "Marbella Suite Bandung". It's located at the highland north of Bandung, near protected forest park of It H Juanda. The view from this highland suburb is the city of Bandung".
4:33 AFAIK Bandung is well-known for its very cool temperature at night because of the land levels. As long the hotel has nice amenities, It's pretty reasonable for low-cost hotel to do that.
i lived in indonesia for a quite long time and despite the fact that i've adapted with the weather there, air conditioner is still a deal breaker for me😂
the GH Universal is really recommended for one thing as u said, “photos” .. if u really wanna enjoy some luxury hotels with great access, might as well stay on Trans Luxury Hotel or Sensa Hotel as they’re located next to a shopping mall.. but if u really just wanna disconnect from the city, there’s Padma Hotel or maybe rent a villa at dago pakar 👌🏻
Wont choose both. lol No AC is a big no.. As for the 2nd hotel, design interior and the no pro camera rules are kinda meh.. I would prefer something in between, a 30-40$ hotel with proper AC and good location. Btw Bandung also have one of the better capsule hotel called Bobobox, you should try it next time.. It's completely different from the surabaya one
I really recommend you to stay at Savoy Homan Hotel at Asia Africa street (its near Braga street), its price is less than $100 but the place was so cool. The room size was so big that include a kitchen inside. It also inclue a big bathroom with bathtub. And also your food is served at a huge hall on the first floor.
The $13 room has electricity meter since it is used for monthly rent. No air-conditioning is also quite common for student's room. Usually, it is rented for college students in Bandung. Bandung is famous as city of students as it has many big universities with city much smaller than Jakarta. This kind of accommodation can be found easily in Bandung. For $13 per day, I bet that this accommodation will be about $200-$300 per month for students and it is quite premium student's room. It explains why your room is quite clean.
i am pretty sure that $13 is not a hotel, it is more a dorm house for students and workers, there are a lot like that around that area. and in bandung those dorm houses usually don't provide an AC except it has no window at all, coz it is already cold at night. Especially the dorm houses located in dago atas... And about the GH, well most people come there becoz of the "instagrammable exterior", but they prefer sheraton or swiss belresort to stay which have pretty similar rates per night. Or one of the most expensive: padma hotel bandung, it has a heated infinity swimming pool with a great view.... You could find it in ubud too.
The Motel 6 by the freeway is over $100 on most days. It never gets old seeing how cheap everything as there. I can't wait until I move there myself. Thank you for your great videos, and price comparison.
You should try renting apartemen in gateway cicadas.. its only 200k a day.. usd $14.. you get apartement facility pool and basketball court.. and air conditioner and hot cold shower apartement room..
For $130 I think you can get a much better option like Padma Hotel for the spectacular view, Swiss-Belresort for the well-known infinity pool, Art Deco Luxury Hotel for the Jacuzzi Suite, or maybe just choose Savoy Homann Hotel because it's historical
2:20 - 2:38 🤣 I dont know how many times I played it over and over. its so funny 🤣😭. She wouldn't know that he's a foreigner since he said "Makasih" so naturally 🤣😭
imo as an Indonesian, a $13 hotel is usually a pretty low quality hotel, but I was surprised that it was pretty good and clean even without AC. Because I've stayed at a hotel for like -+30$ and the quality was a bit disappointing hahaha :( anyway thank you for the review, have a great day! hope you was enjoying your time in Indonesia ♡ *sorry for my bad english
Being cooler than Jakarta I could probably survive in the cheap hotel for a night or 2, there seem to be to many rules for my liking at the expensive hotel and the fail on the room service would be a no for me, I'd probably find an airbnb apartment for about 40 dollars a night and spend the extra cash on food XD
For $130 dollar or above for a night stay in Bandung. I prefer to stay in: Uphill area -Swiss Belresort Dago. -Grand Mercure (which the location right before GH) -Sheraton Dago -Intercontinental Dago Pakar -Padma Near City Center - Hilton - Four season by Sheraton (Dago bawah area) - Pullman Outdside Bandung City Area - Mason Pine. GH universal just not my cup of tea. I prefer stay at MaisonTeraskita or Preanger or Savoy if i want to stay in "European style hotel". Their architecture is art deco style. Which kind of Jaman Belanda architecture. GH is more like "castle like style"
@@alexandwhite I think they put the restriction in place to avoid people abusing the place and using it for unendorsed professional photoshoot and disturbing other guests.
My dad taught me if you're on a vacation, especially with family, just get a cheap room that's still a bit decent. If you're having a room that expensive, your family often refused going anywhere...
English: I'm from Indonesia, I just want to say that if you choose the wrong hotel, just try it, you choose another hotel, maybe you can get good facilities and get ac and internet (wifi) for $13 dollars.
13$ without AC while you can get same price with AC, and Bandung has a cooler weather cause Bandung is rounded by mountains, except you used to get cooler weather than bandung, yes you need it
When I go to Indonesia I stay at apartment gateway in Bandung I literally stay there for 28 days and pay just 350 dollars plus 40 for electric and yes it’s air conditioned and has a pool and it’s key card entry and has security 24 hrs
I’m really glad your video popped up on my recommendation page, your whole channel has been really fun and kind of a great getaway for me during lockdown
I don't think I've ever found a $13 inn like that in 27 years of living in Bandung. seriously, i didn't mean anything, but i felt like giving the place a try. Can you tell me the location of that place, dude?
Picking hotels is all about location is the biggest advice I would give to anyone and never be afraid to negotiate price. Great video for the experience 🤙
Alex, it depends on what is the purpose of the trip. If it is for sight seeing, yes, pick the cheap hotel just for sleeping and take a shower. However though, no AC is a no no for me. If my trip is to relax and get away, I would pick the expensive hotel with great pool (and spa) and..... great WIFI.
For Bandung Hotel I can reccomend Fave hotel at Paskal Hyper Square due to it's extremely convenience location , it's literally a walk to the Pascal 23 Mall and it's near the Chinatown where a lot of food is available
Honestly, from the small hotel videos that I've been watched so far, I'd still prefer to choose to stay at the small hotel in Jakarta. Even it's pretty small, the room really comfortable and has all the complete things I need while I stayed. But it's a bit unfortunate the small hotel in Bandung they put industrial element in it, but the service and safety wasn't satisfied. I'm talking about the stair that doesn't have safety handdrail (for children), and a bit of huge gap between the staircase to one another 😭 also no TV and AC😤 And yes, the G.H. Universal Hotel is a perfect hotel. But I think Trans Luxury Hotel next to Trans Studio Mall and Theme Park, Bandung is also recommended to visit too.
i love the video.. thats really cool. about the 13 bucks hotel you said that they does not have AC. that's really common in Bandung. Because u know Bandung is located near the mountain which makes weather in Bandung is already cool, so on the cheap hotel like the guest house hotel, mostly they don't provide you an AC... whereas if you go to the high building hotel they would provide you
man,so far the tourist channel who have so much effort bout the making video is you. u really doin great man. hope ur channel will get more and more subscriber and viewer, god bless u man👍
My fav hotel in bandung, in cihampelas area because so many place to visit and easy to find food.. and it cost only $15-20 with big rooms and hot water..
whenever I go to Bandung, Ibis Asia Afrika is my go-to Hotel. it's in walking distance to Braga, Starbucks, Circle K and roadside food stalls selling affordable and good food and the room rate is friendlier on my pocket.
well Bandung consider cold at night, although these days in the centre is not that cold anymore.. but still not as hot as jakarta... but at least they should provide the fan
I have a recommendation for cheaper hotels that are nicer and bigger and its only $10-$14 and the location near mall, railway station and its not far from braga, and you can play billiard in there.
many houses in Bandung don't use AC, because Bandung in 1970-1980s is cold, now it's not too cold but people in Bandung are used to not using air conditioning, so they don't use AC
If u wanna staycation, USD 130 is ok. But if u just need place to sleep and take a bath after touring all day long, USD 13 hotel is the option, as long as the hotel is clean enough. Without AC in Bandung is OK, but if without AC in Surabaya? OMG 🤣🤣
13 dollars, would they sanitize the bathrooms? It seem like you’d have to be a non believer of the virus, to feel comfortable in budget hotels, especially in cities outside Japan.
Seharusnya nyari hotel nya pake aplikasi aja... Banyak yang murah, dan tempatnya bisa kita liat dulu lewat poto. Malah ada hotel yg lebih murah dan tempatnya luas... Kayaknya kalo harga segitu ada juga yg ada kolam renang nya
You actually don't need air conditioner in bandung just sleep with a window opened a little for wind Bandung is placed somewhere pretty close to mountains so it's usually cold there
3 years ago I almost booked hostel with shared room with others 2 -3 persons (15sq), locker for storage, with no AC but still get breakfast below 200K in Agoda =>this would be my choice if my top priority low budget hotel is overload booking. Bandung is usually 70-80% booked hotel capacity before pandemic.
Hello my friend has a hotel recommended in bandung... yes it's a modern capsule hotel around the bandung square and it's only $4 to $7 a night. I hope you like that hotel
