On the Black Maxx Spinning reels I've had an issue with 3 different ones where the screw for the handle LOVES to back out. I've nearly lost a handle off of one because of this. I hit them all with a bit of Locktite and that seems to have REALLY helped.

Our local retailers don’t sell this as a combo, I bought the rod seperate and replaced the reel with a abu Garcia max pro. The guy at bcf was a legend, hooked me up with $50 off the rod and $30 off the reel, in total I got my setup for exactly $200 AU. So-far I’m loving this setup.

I just got an Ugly Stik Inshore Carbon all graphite spinning rod for the saltwater. I love it. It's so much better than my GX2's, it's way lighter and far more sensitive. Mine is 7' medium action with a fast tip and rated for 8-20 lb line. I definitely want a lighter one and a heavier one, but I might check out the red carbon rods too. And I need a couple for my baitcasters too. The GX2'S are fine for live bait, trolling and for some lures but they suck for jigging in the saltwater and that's what I usually do. I have one of those Abu Garcia reels on a GX2 casting rod and it's great for not backlashing. But my Penn Squall casts way farther. It's on an Ugly Stik Intercoastal 6.5' rod and it's okay for heavy jigs. But I'd like to have a more sensitive casting rod and maybe one of the red ones is a good choice. I want it for spoons, chatterbaits, jigs, and heavier jigs.

I know I’m late on this comment but just picked up the ugly stik rod at Walmart for $35!!! Worth the wait, my penn 7’ rod broke and needed something new. Perfect timing

the new 2022 MTB 12 days of fishmas boxes came out, they are only available at Walmart, the boxes are blue this year. You should go get one, they are $20, and try to catch a fish on every bait in the box.

I ran to to a hell of sale or steal. Everything fishing in this Guns and Ammo was being sd out for 50% off. I got a KVD baitcaster and a Ugly Stik Carbon rod . Got the rod for $35 and the KVD reel for $75. It's a very light combo. I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Of course I got much more stuff , but that's my first baitcasting setup other than BFS setup. I was very lucky just to happen upon the sale.

Great vid. I just picked up three of the rods in the last month for $66.00 each. 2 on Amazon and one from Walmart. All three are 7ft MH and I absolutely love them. Might be looking into adding a couple Mediums to the arsenal. I have them paired with Kastking Crixus reels I picked up over the winter for $28 on Amazon. I love trying to be a bargain fisherman. I still have all my Lew’s combos to fall back on if needed. Keep up the good work!

If you are in the southern half of the country, I would say you didn’t miss the fall bite. Most lakes are still fishing like late summer in my opinion and judging by what every youtube fisherman are confirming, the weather is way behind the normal seasons. Id imagine that we will have a short fall and it will get cold fast. Bass are still chasing bait fish regardless, but fishing is tough as a $2 steak.

Now that you have the likes, when can we expect the spinning version of the same combo? Every good angler needs to have a one two punch, and Brian Latimer always has a spinning combo or two on his boat deck and uses them in tournaments, so he can't be wrong.

when I hear ugly stick I think of a little trout spinner combo kit I got when I was like 12 lol before that it was all hand me downs. I just got into bass fishing this year after trout fishing for 23 of the 26 years I've been alive lmao

I prefer lefty reels. Can use both. I cast right so reel left is the comfortable and faster option.
