Picked up some 2017 vintage of this wine at a very good price, looking forward to trying it. You're likely aware of this, but their style changed when Ewan took over in 2007. I haven't had old school Faively, but I think I'd prefer the more modern approach.
2005s are hard as a rock and Failveley's wines are notoriously slow to develop. I will say that my 2005s have shown to be harder than I would have liked and it remains to be seen on many of them if they will round out into shape. Faiveley, I'd say, probably will. The track record is too good. I've had the the 1er Issart by the way and it won't be ready for another ten years minimum.
