Aside from a few raised garden beds in the past, I have never done anything like this before on this scale. I'm learning as I go along, but am sharing my love and enthusiasm for deeply connecting with nature, growing my own food, and living more sustainably.
In this video, I show you the perennial plants I'm adding to my food forest garden, and the annual plants I will NEVER grow again. I also share how I'm using the plants to nourish my body and mind.

I garden the NAKED way. I don't use any herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals, and that carries through in every other aspect of my life as well - from the type of products I use, the food I eat, and the environment I keep. I also soak up the sun and let the earth touch my skin as often as possible ;)

Info packed video.Watched twice. Some suggestions. When I dig to transplant I always will fill the hole quarter to half with water and let the water drain into the soil before putting the plant in-done in pots also.Your log planters, you might want to remove the bark, they will last a lot longer and stop the bugs-but you may want them? Here in the northeast the figs can be bent over and covering in soil for winter-circle the plant with wire and fill it with leafs, for winter. Those wild grapes will take over very fast, since you have them elsewhere I would get rid of them in the garden.Along side the roads here the grape vines have covered everything for miles, like a huge wave.Even the black berry can & should be outside the garden they take over to much area. We would cut the vertical branches of the mulberry- the horizontal branches are the ones that give fruit plus they will fruit sooner. Mulberry wood is great fence post. mailbox post after removing bark and some time drying.I hope I have given you some good info.Hopefully my memory is correct on the points.White is your color. Thanks for helping me grow.

Great tips here, thanks! I did water the dug up hole before planting my witch hazel. I love the info you shared about the mulberry and wild grapes. Good to know!!

Certainly living the dream. Would love to become self sustaining, though unfortunately my garden is way too small, though I do manage to grow some berries, fruits and vegetables. Hopefully one day I'll be able to purchase some land.

uh, you must have some really nice deer, as I planted over 80+ fairly large fruit trees, and the deer just love ripping them to shreds, they've killed over 30% of them with just tearing branches of, and eating every leaf on some of them, and also rubbing their heads on the lower part removing the bark.

They mostly stay away since we have a couple dogs around. They don't come close to the house, but there is a route they pass through in our pasture area.
