Nah, because sometimes a company is not guilty, but they pay out to avoid the bad press. There's power (and a paycheck) in knowing something about a company that's not illegal but they don't want it to be publicized. If paying out without admitting guilt (or fault in this instance) became illegal, you would see a lot of whistleblowers taken to court and buried in litigation then sued for silence or defamation.

These crooked surgeons need to lose their licenses, get locked up, and sued. This shouldn't be swept under the rug and should not have been settled behind the scenes. These doctors are always going against their oath to do no harm for the sake of their own greed, and need to be held accountable when they get caught because it's the rest of us who suffer under their negligence and malpractices.

Greed existed long before medicine, and people brought greed into medicine as soon as it was a thing. Why do you think Americans pay 4 times more for healthcare than the EU? Before covid the EU was paying $2,500 per capita, and Americans were paying $10,000. On top of that, the EU had lower rates of stillbirth and SIDS, and both men and women have longer average lifespans than Americans.

It will likely be a separate lawsuit. It's the same issue but the surgeon & patient have different sides and points. They often don't do everything all in one case as they're considered separate complaints. Ones complaining about his boss n co-workers being unprofessional/negligent. And the other is a patient whom they breeched the rights of transparency etc by having students do it, and clearly the risk. I wish we had a system where everything was all taken care of though, we do spend alot a time with all these separate cases smh

@@moniquebaskett338not likely. If it's on tv and the doctor has sued and told on them that means that patients had to be called & asked questions and notified to verify surgery dates/procedures etc The hospital wouldn't have paid him if he had no proof.the timetable with double bookings they showed generally isn't enough information in a court, they'd need more to win a case or intimidate the hospital into paying that much. They'd have blown him off otherwise & said he was a liar. Not to mention they also had to contact the patients insurances to verify things.

My wife’s a pediatrician. She’s the nicest and most caring pediatrician ever. There is a ton of pressure on her to churn through patients. The problem is that medicaid and medicare pays the hospital less per patient, so they need to make up the difference with appointment time. She has to take patients every 15 minutes, which is not normal for a primary care facility (normal is 30 minutes) She has been forced to learn how to blow through patients as fast as possible. Really it’s the patients who suffer and it’s not the doctors choice. I just want to point out, that it may not be these doctors who are at fault, it might be the hospital expecting a patient load and telling them they can find somebody else if they can’t make it work. (It could also be the doctors just trying to earn more)

Alot of people don't know that the longer a patient stays sleep or monitored after surgery in the "recovery" they're being billed literally by the min. The hospital near me bills patients $58 dollars a minute! When you have surgery there are stages. Pre op (before surgery room) recovery area (wakeing up after surgery to be monitored by a nurse) then a phase 2 (can be in the same room as recovery or moved) obviously this is different depending on factors. Its crazy how much doctors get away with because they are under contracts instead of employee.

She went hours without a nurse coming in to see her when she finally got a room and was vomiting without being able to get up.
