Either he actually had a meeting with Penn state and should have shown her a proof (email exchange with someone showing the domain name related to them, calendar invite, formal paper invite, contact of a person….) either he was planing on going there without a meeting (in that case that’s an idiot), or he was def planing on selling these clothes to the US (to sell what 3 t-shirts and 2 pairs of glove? Who tf would even do that?)

@@McDo76 His problem is that he didn't declare them. No way is a CBP agent going to investigate on the spot. The guy didn't know what he was doing as far as carrying merchandise samples internationally. He could have just declared them and paid import duties amounting to not much. He could have posted a bond in lieu of duties and it would have been refunded when he left or he could have gotten and ATA Carnet issued in the UK that would have satisfied customs.

10:50 the lady cutting up the sample clothing, went overboard. She damaged them to the point where it is un-viewable, can't be tried on, for potential buyers. She wasn't supposed to do it like that. Its supposed to be done in a way where the item's shape, size, patterns etc are fully discernable. Socks, gloves, shirts: one clean slice. That DOESN'T warp the shape. She obliterated most of those items. Some customs officers only cut a slice in the inside tags.

What am I missing. I can see counterfeit items or undeclared items. But the guy whose clothes she cut up and destroyed. Why not just rip off the tags so he can't sell as new? Or tell him to go back and declare them? I don't understand. If nothing else they could take the clothes from him and donate to homeless shelters. I don't understand the point of destroying perfectly good clothing. It makes no sense.
